It is irrelevant because it would get MUCH less sun in Reliant.

Your evidence is that they were able to find grass that could grow in MMP so they could for reliant as well. Have you been inside both stadiums during the day?

It would get much less sun than the grass at the Astrodome did? Doubtful. If they can develop a strain to not only thrive but grow indoors... they can get something to grow with the 3-4h of sun/day that the field would get (but that would also require them to open the roof everyday, water it everyday, and leave it undisturbed).

Even perfectly open stadium's fields take a beating after each game, and they constantly have to patch things up... so i'm not buying the whole "trays are the devil" concept either.

Glad they won....but to lose our "prize" for being so bad last season already.....ugh.

Yes, I have... I also see MMP's roof closed for entire home-stands/weekends/summer months during the time where it would be getting all the direct sun.

The strains are not stadium specific... they're able to accommodate lower amounts of sunlight, which despite the stadium design differences, MMP needs that when during the season they close the roof as much as they do.

It doesn't matter, if players are getting hurt, switch to Astroturf if nothing else. You just can't have your guys going down because of a shoddy field.

Again, not really proven to contribute more to injury vs regular grass fields or field turf ones. It's anecdotal and circumstantial....but I'd venture to say that over all the years of games at reliant, there have not been more field related injury in comparison to any other traditional field.

AstroTurf was proven to be a hazard.

We know of at least 3 injuries now directly related to the turf, one ended a career. Sorry IMO that's too much to handwave away. Could they have been injured no matter what? Possibly, but I think it's time to try something new to find out.

We know that field turf has allegedly contributed to back problems and leg problems for a lot of players as well over the years.

Vladimir Guerrero would sell his mother if he could go back in time and play on natural grass.

Which grass is the best to smoke? MMP, NRG, or turf?

Yeah but they've made a lot of improvements in Astroturf over the years, IMO it could be better than pallets of natural grass loosely pushed together which is what we have now.

In a related story, the Colts lost Robert Mathis for the year with a torn Achilles.

What about when the #1 overall draft pick comes out and says his injury was caused by a hole in the grass?

O'Brien: Underwent arthroscopic surgery. Out 4-6 weeks.

    Meniscus?

Not a doctor. Seems it went well. He came down awkwardly. Out for awhile.

    No problem with the turf.

Clowney keeps having issues. (Hernia, concussion, now this)

It's football. Nature of the game. Not a matter of frustration. Every team is dealing with injuries. Like I've said 3 times now, the next guy steps up. That's why you have a roster. So the next guy goes in there and plays well.

There's been 4 questions about Clowney. No questions about Brooks Reed. There are good players on the roster and are expected to go out and play well and us coach them well.
