Wilson is mediocre? Last year he had a 100.8 rating outside the pocket and 100.5 inside the pocket. He is the only QB in the league to have over 100 in both categories whose name isn't Manning.
Every time they mention this story on TV I get pissed. 90 and 99 were the only thing I was looking forward to this year.
Mediocre? He's certainly not the best QB in the league, but he most certainly is not mediocre. Usually, a team having a great defense masks bad QB play, but if you put a worse QB in Wilson's spot, Seattle doesn't do as well as they would have done.
I used to be a big hater on Wilson, but I read somewhere on ESPN that his mediocre passing numbers are actually impressive considering how little he actually passes compared to other QBs.
Wilson > Luck The Seahawks defense and running game are so strong, that it's easy to pick out the "weak link"...but in actuality, that weak link is very much above average. He makes great decisions with the ball, can read defenses, and makes all the necessary throws. His only weakness is his height, which has yet to disrupt his play on the field.
He has dislocated his elbow twice. Clowney's injury is a setback, but I see no reason to freak out about it.....or to dream of Matt Cassel's backup.
if fitz was 22 years old, everyone would be in a circle jerk by today's performance, very wilsonesque. But it seems 'game manager' has become a dirty word over the years. yet all of the superbowl winners in the 2ooos sans brees and kurt warner were game managers when they actually won something. Now that they throw it 62 times a game, they're just good for giving our fantasy team owners a rush and getting to wear pink pants at the kentucky derby. I'll take a superb defense, an offense that isn't turnover prone with a great running game and great special teams over just one 'elite' qb who has to throw it 45+ a game. lol how did this thread cleverly turn into we need an elite qb topic. get well clowney
That would be an insult to paint huffers. Sucks he's hurt and it has been a little unselltling with these one off injuries but that doesn't give people the right to go full r****d just yet.
Reminds of ..... "You have a history Virginia." Clowney getting hurt is just about as shocking as Kubiak's play calling or Yao Mings feet. It is very, very obvious Clowney has issues staying on the field. He had them in college, pre season and now the regular season. I had the over/under at him playing 8 games this season. I am not ready to say he is soft or lazy, only injury prone.
Hey, I once went fishing with a sprained ankle. Sometimes ya just gotta suck it up and play thru pain. Rub some dirt on it!
 BTW Julius Thomas was injured nearly the entirety of his first two seasons, how many TD's did he have tonight again? Relax, be patient, etc.
This. Plus he played another 4 or 5 plays after that injury. May have been trying to give it a go and hurt himself worse.
relax i like wilson but if anything he's a little above average. Also if you take away seattles D, seattle would suck with Wilson. Point is Seattle would do better with any decent QB + that defense than the other way.
If you take away Wilson the Seahawks would suck... They always had a good defense and were a below average team. And did you know the Seahawks had the worst pass protection last season. Russell was sacked over 50 times last year... Considering they don't throw a lot shows how bad that line was and his receiving core was weak. QB's like Rodgers couldn't take a pounding like that. Russell made the Seahawks a top 10 offense.
Does your job consist of pushing 300 plus pound men around...??? Because if it doesn't you just may be injury prone. Especially if you got those injuries cleaning out the garage.
Disagree...maybe the seahawks wouldnt be as good but they definetly wouldnt "suck" without Wilson. That receiving core came up big when it counted. Harvin also had a impact to their success even though he missed a lot of time. And just lol at no one mentioning their best offensive player LYNCH.
Dr. Kenneth First was on 610 this morning. Said depending on the degree of the injury they will either repair the meniscus or remove the tissue that's damaged. The removal provides a quicker healing process...4-6 weeks in all likelihood. But that carries with it the risk of further injury as you're removing part of the meniscus forever. On the other hand, if they repair it, then he's out for the season...6-8 months. And only about 2/3rds of repairs actually heal properly. I really don't think it's a stretch to call this guy injury prone. He was hurt most of last season...since we've drafted him he's been hurt 3 times, and this will be his second surgery.
This whole "injury prone" meme in sports has always rustled my jimmies. It's really just a lazy voodoo armchair doctor term someone made up to explain the random phenomenon otherwise known as "bad luck". Football is a violent game. People get hurt constantly. Sometimes people don't. That's just how the dice come down. It's a dealwithitdog.gif situation. Said it before and I'll say it again... None of Clowney's injuries have been related to each other, nor do they have the reputation of being recurring. Although any knee stuff is cause for pause, we need to see an actual pattern before saying he's damaged goods. Please step off the ledge, folks.
