Fitz isn't half the coward our previous QB was, and it appears BOB isn't half the gutless idiot our previous HC was either, that's a positive.
I think this sums it up nicely. Even if Fitz doesnt have the talent of an elite QB, at least he does crumble when the heat is on. He'll at least go for it, for better or worse. And BOB is already the better HC than Kubiak ever was.
Yeah, anybody without an agenda know this. Nice scramble for a first down too... just slide next time!
Will rep anyone if they can post lengthy texans highlights. None of that NFL highlight BS. How does 2 min serve this game justice??
I saw this posted on texans talk, thought it was interesting. Late in first half, before the long TD to Hopkins, I noticed Mallett standing right by O'Brien with helmet on, stretching at times. I told my son it looked like he was ready to go in. Immediately after the Hopkins TD he put helmet down and put ballcap on. Wondering if Coach was close to making a change. Remember up until that TD ****zpatrick looked BAD.
And then, unfortunately for you, Fitz played a good 2nd half and he'll continue being the starter for a while.
I actually could see BOB making a move if Fitz "doesn't have it" for one game here or there... doesn't mean he loses his job permanently (unless Mallet comes in and looks like Brady)... but Fitz has a penchant for being careless with the football, and BOB doesn't seem like somebody who just sticks with a decision or a guy because he "hopes" it works out. As it is, that drive they got the Hopkins TD was very run heavy... until they got the formation they needed for the play-action to work. Had they not converted that, and had another drive stall, there would have been no problems taking out Fitz for a change of pace. I actually think this sense of accountability and possible substitutions throughout the game is refreshing compared to the previous regimes.
Nope. Fitz was only 5-10 at that point. That's like the worst a QB could ever be at anything. EVAR! It was SO obvious that our season OVER and we needed to put the backup in. Seriously though, after all the **** we saw at QB last year, who can look at what Fitz did and call it "bad"? It wasn't "great", but after last year, can't we be happy with "good"?
Lol...exactly. Fitz might have a short leash, but as long as we are in games and he's not making multiple critical mistakes, I dont see him getting taken out.
You can already see how much this staff has a better understanding of how to slow the game down with a lead, Kubes would inevitably call something predictable for 3 straight downs and leave the opponent with time, the ball, and good field position.
