What exactly am I doing? Showing genuine concern for other peoples health, taking my time to promote a healthy life style, I have not personally attacked anybody, I have not looked down on anybody or have been rude, but yet i'm the D bag smug little kid. All I want to do is help people, I like promoting a healthy lifestyle because it's so essential to living a long, happy and healthy life. Right now America is having serious health issues, up 70% of adults are overweight or obese, cancer is at all time high, multiple diseases are skyrocketing, and it's all because of our unhealthy choices. I am very saddened by this, I watch family member after family member unnecessarily and prematurely pass due to cancer, heart attacks, drug overdoses, I see my grand mother having to get her limbs cut off due to diabetes, I see my aunt now crippled, hooked to an IV and forced to sit in a hospital bed all day for the past 10 years of her miserable life, I see overweight and depressed people everywhere I look. I am not trying to be a douche, I'm just truly concerned for peoples health. Please, re-read through my comments, and personally point out where you think I was being a "smug little kid" and "D-bag" Spoiler
One of my best friends in undergrad was uppity as hell about eating healthy 24/7/365. If we went to a bar, he didn't drink. He never ate fried foods, and he would act snooty and say that healthy foods actually tasted better than the food we ate. He was in super shape, 6-pack, could lift his own weight with ease, the whole nine. Then he met a girl, he put on a little weight and lose the 6 pack. Then they got married, he got a little chubby. Then he got into med school, now he has man t***. He's got a solid B cup going. At the end of the day, whatever you do to be healthy has to be sustainable, even when life starts to catch up with you. Pretending that organic hippie BS (coming from a person who lives in Eugene, OR) is enough you're crazy. You will cheat, you will deviate, but if your life goal is everything in moderation you're fine. There's nothing wrong with McD's here and there, much like there's nothing wrong with some organic boneless skinless chicken with rice and green beans here and there too. So getting back to the topic at hand, yes, the Jalapeno Double is actually pretty good. Not great, but good.
What does your best friend giving up on his diet, acting snotty, finding a girl friend, have to do with you calling me a prick? Do you think posting that justify's you calling me a prick what so ever? Secondly, just because you observe your one single friend giving up on his diet, doesn't mean you know how my life will pan out, don't tell me I will cheat and deviate, because you simply don't know that. I find no need to to moderate unhealthy choices into my life, and I don't find it to be okay.
You will cheat because that is human nature. My friend isn't an isolated case, it happens all the time. Go to any weight lifting forum, there are guys who are trying to get back to who they were all the freaking time. This why fad diets exist. Hey, maybe you're an isolated case where it doesn't happen, but that's even more reason for you not act like a preachy prick. Your healthy choices don't make you a prick. What makes you a prick is that you try and high jack a thread about a burger you won't even try to establish some sort of elitism about your life choice. We get it, you think you're living a healthy life. I would gladly argue that being so rigged in something as simple as what you eat is not mentally healthy, it's insane. But hey, that's not what this thread is about, it's about a burger you won't try, so why not just leave?
Once again, I'm not trying to be a "preachy dick" or "prick", all I have tried to do, is promote healthy eating. It's not elitism, or me trying to highjack a thread, it's that Americans are having serious health issues due to their unhealthy diets, that are relevantly consisting of, McDonald burgers. In your view, you see me being a dick, you see me trying to act all high and mighty with my diet, but the truth is, if you re-read my post, that's not where i'm personally coming from at all, I am, genuinely concerned with peoples health. And if I can help a couple of people on this forum by sharing my little knowledge of a healthy life style, then I will take the opportunity to do so, because it's simply the right thing to do in my eyes. But you don't want to hear it fine, I'll stop posting just because it bothers you so much. Just know, that I never once looked down on anybody in this thread, never once called anybody names, never once said anything that I didn't view as positive or helpful. In return I was called a D-bag, prick, preachy dick and a smug little kid.
I get what you are saying. I'm as healthy as they come. Haven't had fast food or a soda in 7 years. But coming into a thread like this and bashing their interests is the same as those people who come into Texans threads and bash the team's every error and conveniently forget the victory at the end of the day. They aren't even Texans fans for the most part. Or those who bash a tv show, but have never actually ever seen the tv show. Or music. I usually just avoid topics I have no interest in.
Logic and reason have never been grounds for determining the illegality of a substance. That being said, I've never understood public opinion of being against the legalization of drugs. Who cares what other people put in their bodies?
how am i meant to get 120-140 grams of protein per day being a vegetarian? like im genuinely asking, do i have to have like 8 liters of lentils or something?
There are no cow eyeballs in ground beef. I used to work in a meat plant, and you are full of sensationalistic *****. By no means is fast food healthy, but leave the BS out of it.
Imagine you posting a thread asking if anyone has tried the new Crown Maple that came out a couple of years ago and the FIRST response was someone telling you that alcohol is unhealthy and mentions cirrhosis and alcoholism and posts a picture of water? It would be irritating and you would call that person a douchebag. I was curious about this burger. I haven't eaten a thing from McDonald's in about 6-7 months and eating one of these won't ruin my body. I grow a lot of my own veggies and eat pretty healthy but every now and then I like fast food. If you want to promote healthy eating then you should make your own thread about it instead of hijacking other threads.
This sums up my thoughts. I don't think your comments make you look like a DB, but this isn't the thread to preach about healthy living. It is a thread to talk about a cheeseburger... Never tried it. While I agree there are like 10 better places off the top of my head, I do enjoy a McDonald's cheeseburger from time to time...probably due to liking them as a kid...but not sure if this looks good to me. I did try their grilled onion burger thingy once and didn't like it at all.
Well said. I'm assuming that guy is really young and doesn't realize how that kind of post is really annoying. But to be fair I'm sure I did that when I was younger and on the internet, so I can't complain too much. This should be the last time a thread about a burger gets shat on by a vegan, though. Even a McDonalds burger.
I tried it a few days ago but the pickled taste overwhelms. I have been to McD's 3-4 times this year.
