Guess I was asleep about Cam Newton's (@TB) injuries. Do I need to bench him for Carson Palmer (v. SD, Mon.)?
It's a real possibility that he sits so I would definitely replace him on your starting lineup now. Even if he's a go it'll more than likely be under the questionable status which is worrisome considering this happened two weeks ago and he still hasn't fully recovered.
Btw, I like James Jone as a fantasy pickup. Derek Carr has looked legit this pre-season, and with a big arm Jones could prove valuable. Also note that he is the Raiders #1 pass catcher, and owned in only about a quarter of leagues.
Sounds like Andre Ellington could be out this week: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Update; Andre Ellington aggravated his left foot in practice on Thursday, underwent an MRI, hearing he could be out extended period of time.</p>— Mike Jurecki (@mikejurecki) <a href="https://twitter.com/mikejurecki/status/507907276473380864">September 5, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
With Ellington likely out, which one of these backs should I start in his place: Trent Richardson, Stevan Ridley, Mark Ingram, or Fred Jackson?
I should've known better after watching him battle lingering foot issues at Clemson, but I just couldn't help myself when I saw his name floating atop the board in the 6th round. Dammit.
Is the possibility of Josh Gordon coming back real? I could sign him... I have Tavon Austin and Deandre Hopkins as my 4th and 5th receivers in a league that is capped at 5 WR. Also..... my rbs are Knowshon Moreno, CJ Spiller and Ryan Matthews... Which 2 would you start. Also.... The RB that is left out could start at the flex in theory but I have Mike Wallace there right now at this point. Thoughts?
Assuming you're using standard scoring and standard starting rosters: Yes Josh Gordon coming back is possible, at this point it wouldn't be worth picking him up, if you had to drop a good player to do so....luckily you don't have "to do so". I'd probably drop Tavon Austin, in a run first offense, with a backup QB, who's never done much even with the starting QB. This week I'd start Spiller (going against a recently bad defense) and Mathews (going against what could very well be a bad run defense due to Free Agency, and injuries). And since in my scenario it comes down to Mike Wallace and Knowshon, I think I'd slightly lean Knowshon. Mike Wallace has got Revis, Bill Belichick, and Ryan Tannehill to deal with; that could be too much to overcome in week 1.
So, with Ellington out, I need someone in my flex position. D. Williams, Mike Wallace, Mark Ingram, Rod Streater or Kelvin Benjamin?
Got a couple offers Im mulling over and would appreciate yall's thoughts. Aaron Rodgers Ben Tate DeAndre Hopkins for Adrian Peterson Percy Harvin Eli Manning or Rodgers for Julian Edelman Doug Martin Desperately need RB and WR help as those of you who read the Rate my Draft thread know.
I did. Was kinda tempted to try to tweak it a bit with a counterproposal, but in the end I agreed to the original proposal. I feel good about it, I upgraded RB and WR and all it cost me was Rodgers. I have a feeling tate will have a good year, but replacing him with AP is a nobrainer.
2k. If i was you i would try and flip ap for quantity. Something like a solid but lesser#1 rb(think foster, lacy, Martin, etc...) and a solid #1 but not the top elite(think julio,aj green, Marshall, alshon, etc...) or two tier2 rbs from the same list. Flipping Rodgers for ap was a success. Flip his value morey style. You need more depth than a #1. Also do eli and claim james starks if he isn't claimed already. Edit: also I'd drop fiedorwicz and try and claim a potential wr or rb with upside. Backup te is irrelevant and can easily be found on bye week. One last thing, since you really screwed the pooch on draft night, I'd go ahead and try and find somebody who is willing to trade for Seattle defense. Coming off a big win hype will be big and you already have another good defense in the Texans. If somehow you could land a gerhart/Richardson type rb you should take that and hope they produce. Texans w/a Richardson type rb is better than Seattle with Texans in the bench. Your so depleted that you need to acquire depth over one top end talent.
