[Austin, TX] Calling on my CF brethren for any possible help...

    This is my random, last ditch effort...

    It's my girlfriend's birthday tomorrow, as well as our anniversary, and she's always mentioned one of her bucket list items in life being a romantic home made dinner atop the roof of a high-rise building overlooking the city.

    Me being an avid bucket-crosser-off'er, I've had the Ashton Austin roof on lock this whole week when my connect suddenly fell through. Fast forward another 48 hours and I've had two more locations pop up and fall through and now I fear I've exhausted all of my options (friends, FB, reddit).

    Basically, I'm hoping someone on here lives or knows anyone who would have roof access to a high-rise condo or apartment in the Austin downtown/campus area. Anything like the Monarch, Rio 21, Austonian, j26 Apts, Legacy at the Lake, etc. Anything, really...

    I would have even settled for a terrace on the 17th floor of the 360 condos but, alas...

    If anyone could help, I'd be forever grateful and slap a little finders fee in your pocket as well.

    Just sneak to the top of the Chase or Bank of America building (I don't remember) on 6th and congress. I used to work there. No security and always empty. Probably can see that Capitol from the to.

    If you were in Houston I could get you to the top of the San Jacinto Monument for a nominal fee, my Grandfather helped build the joint. Let me know if you're interested. I'll give you my real name and you can just tell them I sent you.

    The top of those highrise buildings are reserved for really rich people who live in Austin.
    Go find them at the W driving Ferrari's with California license plates.

    Go with the UT Tower or Mt Bonnell like regular folk

    Mt Bonnell is your safest bet. It's naturally pretty and you won't have to dodge building security. As tinman said, the tops of the Austonian, W, etc. are guarded heavily and residents would probably pay more to keep you out than you could pay to get in.

    Now THAT is cool. It is true that my grandfather took part in the construction of the monument, but I have absolutely ZERO connections there. :grin:

    Anyone can take the elevator ride up to the observation deck, hell it may even be free.

    We've Bonnell'd the hell out of that Mount. She's pretty familiar with the natural'ish scenic views (Bonnell, 360 overlook, etc).

    Umm - Very interested!!!


    It looks like I'm settling for a high terrace overlooking (err.. mid-looking?) downtown over the i-35 highway at the AMLI Eastside apartments which is actually a stunning view judging from the pics.


    I'm totally going to be getting the sex all night, guys.
