So? A great player he was, but a leader he was not. I'm not really going to argue with someone with thinks he knows more than Adelman and Van Gundy who were his coaches.:grin::grin::grin::grin: What a joke.
T-Rack to the Mac!! If he led this team instead of Harden minus the injuries we'd have won a championship. That's right now of course we have no idea how good Harden will be.
a leader he was not? what a joke. watch this video again and educate yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86OLi9i7j1c. t-mac owns.
Well, I NEVER saw T-Mac take a single play off in the playoffs (didn't mean to do that) in his 5 years as a Rocket... But in 2 playoff series with significant help and a solid healthy supporting cast, Harden hasn't lived up to his regular season production (And lets not forget his finals with OKC).
so well put. fun fact: t-mac is 12th ALL-TIME in playoff PER. http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/per_career_p.html he is 4th in all-time playoff PER among wing players; only behind jordan, lebron, and durant. wow! t-mac is pretty damn good. also, look at his playoffs stats when he played for us. 2005: 31/7/7 2007: 25/6/7 2008: 27/8/7 he was hurt in 2008, playing with a broken back and one knee and he STILL put up 27/8/7?! wow!
Who's GAME do I love more? No doubt, Tmac's. His individual skills and abilities far exceed Harden's, except for shooting. Harden's J is so much sweeter. Tmac though. I mean the dude had incredible vision, incredible passing abilities, incredible athleticism, and quite an imagination for offensive plays. Harden's career will be more promising though. McGrady only has two scoring championships to show, Harden at least made it to the finals (as an actual piece). McGrady's career was a disappointment, but I would take a prime McGrady over Harden any day of the week. Not because Harden sucks or anything, but because I loved Tmac's smooth moves sooooo much more. That turn around fade away baseline jump shot? Seriously, it's the sexiest thing I've ever witnessed. The one time against Indiana that he dribbled IN BETWEEN himself and the defender on a post up while doing a turnaround fade away? OMG -- pants need a changin'.
Uhh...do you realize that Harden was the #1 clutch player in the entire league last season. His FG% at the close of games was amazing. Did you watch the Rocket games last season? Less than a minute left, Harden usually took a 3pt shot rather than trying to draw a foul. Last 5 Min <= 5pts FG% : 50% 3FG% : 50% Last 3 Min <= 5pts FG% : 54.5% 3FG% : 45.5% Last 1 Min <= 5pts FG% : 52.9% 3FG% : 50% Last 30 sec <= 3pts FG% : 66.7% 3FG% : 60% Last 10 sec <= 3pts FG% : 57.10% 3FG% : 50% That's ridiculous shooting in the clutch. If you cringe when Harden gets the ball in the last minute of a game then what do you do when anyone else in the league gets the ball? Nobody in the entire league was better than Harden in the clutch last season.
Tony Danza was more of a boss than T-Mac. Entire career as a starter, zero playoff series wins for the NBA and China and minor league baseball.
# of times Harden advanced in the playoffs as a Rocket: 0 # of times TMac advanced in the playoffs as a Rocket: 0 And in what universe is TMac not clutch? Whoever said that, slap yourself some knowledge.
1/2 these replies on this thread are useless. I guess that's how people get their post counts so high. But if I had to vote, I'd say Tracy Mcgrady has the slight edge. Until Harden gets this team to the 2nd round .
Question: why was McGrady never on team USA? Was he one of those that turned down the invitation or did he not get invited?
