I'm not judging him. It's his life. I don't wish him harm.

I personally don't see a problem with doing drugs if they don't effect your profession. Like pot smoking accountants.

And if they were asking for something higher than a 6th? Then what?

I'm just glad they didn't target Marky Mark Sanchez.

So you'd let your accountant, the man or woman that is your liaison between you and the irs, the one that could move a decimal point and get you prison time, do drugs and then go through your books but you're compelled to condemn a professional athlete that has no bearing on your personal well being ? Wow LoL

And the Eagles would have said 'Thanks for the interest. Have a wonderful day.'

Then Mallett, considering where we drafted Savage. Barkley is locked into a deal though, there's some value in that. But not as much value as Mallett knowing the system.

Lol Im not talking in physical nature or a literal sense, but I think Kubiak saw Case as a guy that he saw something in him and could mold into a good player. That's how I think OB sees in Mallet. I don't think he thinks Mallet will be the future franchise QB but thinks hes worth a roll of the dice in a hope and see situation.

So the real question is, 'is he worth renewing for another few years?'

I think a lot of that depends on how the Texans play out the year...how the college QBs perform...and what draft position we end up having.

If we are going to end up with a high pick and one of the college studs, then we dont renew Mallett. If it looks like we might miss out on one of the college QBs or it's more beneficial to go in another direction, then renewing Mallett might be the smart thing to do.

Lets say we don't get to see Mallet this year but want to re-sign him. He shouldn't cost us much, right?

Yeah based on one gif from his rookie preseason, that's exactly why we would have wanted Barkley.

He actually played pretty well this preseason.

Why are so many opinions and ideas around here written in stone? I don't know his history, at all - but this is a league that suspends you for a year if you're in the room when pot is being smoked - if he had a raging coke habit... we'd probably know about it. But the guy hasn't bombed any tests; no suspensions; no team discipline; no smoking gun, TMZ-style exposes being caught in bad places/situations...

If he had a problem, IF, seems highly likely it's behind him. Let it go...

Why is it more people are critical of Ryan Mallett off the field "issues" than Manziel? Manziel was much more public was even caught rolling up a dollar bill in the restroom. For some reason ppl are like "well he is a young man having fun". Seriously don't understand, maybe somebody can help me?

    Guys shield your eyes!!!

Don't dare look at your two former QBs; QBR from the preseason. It actually shows what we were dealing with and why they are no longer starting.

Seriously Schaub and Keenum are so bad. Yates takes the cake between the 3 former Texans.

So.. pass on the experienced hype in order to draft the inexperienced hype?....

People haven't been critical of Manziel? Do you live in a bubble that contains the city limits of College Station?

BOB just wanted the best #2 he could get, that is familiar with the offense, to go in and play if Fitz goes down.

Things can play out differently but I'd guess Mallet doesn't play and isn't on the team next year since we will still have Fitzpatrick under contract, Savage will be given his chance and we may draft one of the big 4 in next years draft.

Because everyone knows all he does is party, do drugs, and get hammered. It's his reputation he's built up and he was America's and ESPN's college football darling.
