I think that yahoo report was based on a Suns' "insider" speculation. So it may be slanted toward the Suns.

Papanikolaou is a 6-foot-8, 230-pound, left-handed forward with the versatility to play small forward behind Trevor Ariza and power forward behind Terrence Jones.

He can play stretch 4. Already has better range than TJones and D-Mo.

Right, but he's still not a power forward. And Terry still can't be combined in a trade before the season as per your prediction.

Did you read this part>>> Not sure when it happens, before the season or at the trade deadline.

If you are going off of this .... Based on CBA rules though I think it's best for the Suns if this happens before the season.

Then maybe I should have said Based on CBA rules though I think it's best for the Suns to get something done before the season.

Bledsoe Tender is for 3.7mil so I wonder could flip Terry along with a pick? I know that price is low but I just can't see us going into the season with Jason Terry. Do you know the answer to that.

Also they have Pap listed as forward. Not Small, Not Power, just forward.

I think Morey should go for Jeff Teague if he can't get Rondo or Dragic. He's pretty underrated.

Why is it that Terry can't be combined in a trade before the season again? Is there something other than the CBA governing trades? Terry's not a free agent... might help to start here - http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=9211511&postcount=9156

Your "correction" quote says the same thing that I posted:
While I don't think you could turn around and re-trade a player as part of one "conglomerated" trade,

Haha. And every shooting guard can be a point guard.

Except it doesn't. You may have very well meant originally "I don't think you could turn around and re-trade a player as part of one "conglomerated" trade", but you stated rather disparagingly "Terry still can't be combined in a trade before the season".

    Fact is, he can.

Fact is, he cannot be combined with other players in a trade until 60 days after his trade to the Rockets is finalized. So including him with Pap in a trade that PHX needs to see completed before the season, which was the basis of the post I responded to, isn't going to happen.

Akeemshook is your thinking that we can't do it because of the 150% percent rule? I know you have probably seen it. I checked cbafaq.com as well.

    This is a BimaThug Post.

(Had a convo with Larry Coon last year where he indicated you couldn't step up basis like that without waiting for 60 days.)
While I don't think you could turn around and re-trade a player as part of one "conglomerated" trade, I see no reason why a team cannot trade an acquired player in a subsequent trade, using the CBA-proscribed salary-matching rules, inside of 60 days.

We've seen players acquired and then turned around and traded to other teams the next day. Hell, we saw that TWICE in connection with the Omer Asik trade (with Gee coming from Cleveland to New Orleans and then immediately flipped to Houston; and with Hopson coming from Cleveland to Charlotte to New Orleans to Houston, all in a matter of a couple of days). Sure, those players were traded by an under-the-cap Pelicans team, but the principle of "not flipping players" did not seem to prevent these moves.

I could be wrong, but I highly doubt that there is any rule/regulation preventing the Rockets from trading Jason Terry inside of 60 days after acquiring him for a higher-salaried player using salary-matching rules.
