I hope he has the same motivation we have to kick Dallas @$$ . The problem is that guy hasn't played in a long time but if he starts making shots we will forgive him soon.
Outside the hate for Terry, this is actually a really nice move for us. Even if Terry is a bum right now, we just got two valuable draft picks that will be in the 31-45 range. Likely close to 31. I can see us waiving Terry too.
[rQUOTEr]The Houston Rockets have reached an agreement in principle to acquire Sacramento Kings guard Jason Terry, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Terry had been a longtime rival of the Rockets with the Dallas Mavericks, and a move to Houston promises to escalate what has become an increasingly fierce rivalry between the teams this summer. Terry, 36, spent eight years with the Mavericks before signing a 2012 free-agent deal with the Boston Celtics and moving onto Brooklyn and Sacramento in trades in 2013. Terry was the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year in 2009 and 2011. The Rockets will send a package centered on non-guaranteed contracts, including Alonzo Gee, that the Kings can ultimately waive and gain salary savings and roster space, league sources said. Sacramento will send Houston two second-round picks in the deal, including one via the Knicks, league sources told Yahoo. The trade could take some time to officially complete, based on restrictions of contracts in the deal, league sources said. Sacramento had been trying to unload Terry and his $5.4 million expiring deal, and Houston had been searching for a playoff-sturdy guard to join its bench. The Rockets lost restricted free agent Chandler Parsons to the Mavericks in July, a year after beating Dallas to free-agent center Dwight Howard. http://goo.gl/45FEMn[/rQUOTEr]
so we traded a bench warmer for a veteran guard with championship experience and 2 second round picks and we clutchfans still b**** and complain because he used to play for the Mavs....
Maybe I'd be excited if the Rockets traded for a time machine, too. Terry has fallen off a cliff the last two years. Hard. The 2nd rounders are where the value is at in this deal. Terry was the garbage we took to make the Kings willing to give up those picks.
Veteran presence with championship pedigree. Has always been clutch and we can't have enough players who went to school at Arizona
Yup. I'm guessing that this will also help the Rockets to execute future trades, in that Terry will likely make more money than the guys the Rockets sent out and they thus will be able to take back (a little) more salary in a trade.
