Doc Rocket @Thedocrocket 20m #Texans pick up some dime-package 4.32 speed in CB Morris from 49’ers. Speed for returning kicks! (save Martin for offense)
Ahh, no. OB needed a pocket passer to get the dang ball to the spiffy receiving corp dude. CK obviously was not capable of doing that. Besides, I don't think he fully grasped OB's system and still cannot handle the blitz.
In 4 career passing attempts, Mallett has been responsible for half of Shiloh Keo's career interceptions.
I'm a fan of this. O'Brien has experience with Mallett and he obviously believes that he'll be able to get something out of him. Mallet has the physical tools, and if O'Brien can get him to improve the mental aspect of his game, he has a chance of becoming a starting NFL quarterback. And if he doesn't, then we only gave up a conditional 7th-round pick. Very low risk/very high reward. Your point? If you wanted to point that Mallett has done nothing significant in his NFL career, then that's fine, but that stat means nothing. He may very well suck (this is the most likely outcome,) but hey, it's worth a shot, is it not?
My point is that Mallet is awesome, it takes a player the caliber of Shiloh Keo to make him look bad and I'm pretty sure there aren't many of them in the NFL. Mallett will probably become our long time starter, Kubiak had Schaub, BOB has Mallett!
Combination of watching the game where it happened and http://www.pro-football-reference.com The kid has the IQ of a toaster, but at least he has a big frame and a strong arm.
Bullough to the PS. Glad both he and Labhart went unclaimed. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>The <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Texans?src=hash">#Texans</a> have signed Max Bullough to their practice squad after he went unclaimed, per source. Some potential there.</p>— Dave Zangaro (@DZangaro) <a href="https://twitter.com/DZangaro/statuses/506165935057547264">August 31, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
We do agree and I'm not, he's a moron and a bad QB, but we didn't give much for him and unless BOB has a crush on him similar to Kubiak with Schaub, he shouldn't be on the team past this season.
What is half of 2? How many interceptions has Mallett thrown? How many times has Keo intercepted Mallett? Pro tip: the answer to all of those questions are the same.
I think, considering how bad Keenum has been, the worst outcome of this trade is neutral - another bad QB (Mallett = Keenum). However, there is the possibility Mallett could be decent, especially since COB has some experience working with him.
