you can get $40 for watch dogs from best buy right now they are doing a 50% extra trade-in that's what I'm going to do
I was excited about this game when they first showed it off. It looks vaguely Souls-ish, and is made by Capcom, who are the minds behind the inestimable Monster Hunter series, so I have confidence that it'll be great. Hopefully someone will fandub this video soon, and hopefully we'll hear about it coming to the US eventually.
It has to be in store and they give you a gift card. I did it 2 days ago, got $93 back and reserved 2k15. http://goo.gl/k3dmyU
Sony of Japan is streaming their Pre-TGS conference tonight. Its in Japan so it won't start till 1am over here for us in central time. Youtube stream link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5D-Wr_3-E5U Supposed to stream on Ustream as well. I'm off tomorrow so I'm tempted to stay up and watch it, but I'm sure they will have a replay up as soon as its over. Not sure what to expect with announcements but hopefully will get one or two new game announcements and maybe even some stuff for the Vita would be nice.
Haha, I'm glad I didn't stay up for it. There was a new P5 teaser (and confirmation of a PS4 release), as well as a date for Bloodborne (at least for Japan). But most of it was pretty "meh," especially if you're not into some of the niche Japanese titles (Disgaea, Ys, Omega Force games, etc.). Most of the games were cross-platform too (coming to PS3 and/or Vita as well), so it's unlikely that they'll be taking full advantage of the PS4. Well...we did get to see what the Tekken team was working on: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/oIvUrWWIDGU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Good to see what Japan has in mind with VR.
The Waifu simulator is gonna move PS4 units in Japan, lol. And yeah the major thing I was excited about from the conference was Persona 5 releasing on ps4. I wasn't looking forward to buying a new game for my ps3. Hopefully they'll port the new Tales of Zestiria game to ps4 as well.
I wanted a JRPG on the PS4, and looks like we got one with Persona 5. However, they gave a very vague release date of '2015' Whenever I simply hear of the release year and not something more exact such as 'Spring 2015' . 'Fall 2015' , etc, it leaves me to believe that it will come out towards the end of 2015 - which would mean a Western release of early 2016. So...meh.
P5 was originally scheduled for Winter 2014 for PS3 in Japan. They've delayed the game to 2015 (not because of the PS4 port apparently). I would assume given the original timing, it would be Q1 or Q2 in Japan. But yeah, it's hard to say. This is definitely a "when it's done" type of game, so they'll take as much time as they need. Even knowing the Japanese release date, it would be hard to guess the NA release. It could easily take 6+ months. 2016 isn't too unreasonable, though I would hope for a a Fall/Winter 2015 NA release (assuming this is just a small delay from their original plan). It is always hard to figure out Persona games. They don't usually release much to the public ahead of time, and then when they do, the game is just about done and ready to be released. I'm hoping that with them talking a bit more openly about the game, it is 80%-90% complete. There might be Ys, Disgaea 5, and a few other JRPGs out before P5. And all of them before Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts haha.
I've never played any Persona game, and don't plan on it (don't own a PS3 anymore nor a Vita) - but I've been wanting to play a JRPG to satisfy that itch of the classic PS1/PS2 JRPG's that I've been missing for a long time. People seem super hyped about it, so I assume its a very great series? I hope it comes out in the first half of 2015 in the West and not the latter half. As for Ys - I just saw the trailer, and it looks interesting, but the battle system / graphics look horrible. What has people excited about this game?
So I played the Last of Us some more. It definitely straddles the line between realism and fun like, oh hey I'm moving this plank so I can cross it. I mean it when I say it straddles it; it's very close. Battlefield for example is realism to the point of it not being fun, in my opinion. I'm really liking the Last of Us now, but I have to say my stress levels do not drop when I'm playing that game haha. I hate it.
Anyone got a recommendation of THE game to get right now? Definitely gonna try out The Last of Us. I know next to nothing about it, and everyone says it's amazing. Just wanted to know if there's something else I ought to try. Also, other than eBay/Craigslist what are good options to get games for less than the normal price? Sorry... haven't owned a system in a long, long time.
Gamefly = $15 a month and you can rent games as long as you like. Gamestop always has deals on their pre-owned games. If you go to the Gamestop off Highway 6 / Westheimer I believe it's always Buy 2 get 1. Destiny. September 9th. Infamous: Second Son, Diablo 3, Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare are all out and very good.
Finally got my monk to level 70. I think the DH is more fun to play, but I'm pretty decked out on eq for my DH where as my monk items aren't that great. I think once I'm able to find him better items, I will probably enjoy the monk more.

Also, is it just me or does the narrator in the Deep Down trailer sound suspiciously like Jeremy Irons? Probably just someone who sounds similar, I suppose...
FINAL FANTASY XV. THE GAME THAT WILL REDEEM THE ATROCITY KNOWN AS EVERY FF GAME AFTER XII. Unfortunately, it probably isn't coming out until 2016. But, we get Type - 0 HD coming out in March (which is supposedly a good game) , and it comes with a FFXV demo. (from the recent trailer)
Bloodborne CE is available for preorder on Amazon. Was sold out in the first thirty minutes when they posted it a couple of hours ago, but looks like it's still up for now.
