Then that is the real countdown date. I doubt Morey will make a major move until the Bledsoe question is resolved, and I don't see how Bledsoe gains anything by signing now, so it's highly likely that he waits until the very last minute to accept the Suns offer, which I would be surprised if he doesn't take.
Morey should be looking into upgrading the 4(Milsap/Anderson) and trying to pry Wilson Chandler or Gallinari. Galli can replace parsons and can play stretch 4. pipedream maybe, but he is coming back from an acl injury.
Is there a rumor about Faried or are people just speculating about him? I always liked him, though he is far from a star. With practically no real midrange game, he wouldn't be the best fit next to Howard - but it wouldn't be nearly as bad as Asik was. Faried is quick, so even though he can't hit that outside shot, he can penetrate the paint when he gets the ball on the wing, either finishing himself or dishing the ball. If there even is a rumor about us getting Bledsoe and Faried I'd be ecstatic. That would be a championship calibre team. With only Faried it would be wait and see how everything fits. I wouldn't want to give up too much for Faried - if it has to be the NOLA pick, I wouldn't throw in another rotational player like Beverly or TJones. Moti perhaps, PApa rather not...
This is all speculation. Not one trade idea mentioned in this entire huge thread has come to be true.
I loved Wilson Chandler. Thought the pre-hurt WC would fit well. I just don't know if what he has left is worth the TPE???
Cyberx reported that Faried basically makes the Rockets organization pop major wood. Doesn't mean we can get him, especially now that he helps raise the Nuggets' profile as a starter for USA Basketball.
That would explain why things have cooled on Bledsoe from the Rockets' perspective. I'm guessing we're moving onto Rondo or Rubio to see if we can get a deal done before TC starts.
It seems like the Rockets have given their deal to Bledsoe (2 years with a team option for the 3 year at the MAX)...now its up to Bledsoe to decide if he wants to take that OR take the QO and become an UFA next year...or take the Sun's deal (4yr/$48 million)... No matter what...the Rockets will have a chance to acquire a PG from the Suns. OPTION 1: If Bledsoe takes the QO (worst case situation)...Rockets will probably have to give up less to get him from PHX...but there would be a chance he leaves next summer. OPTION 2: If Bledsoe takes the 4yr/48 million...Rockets can try to acquire Dragic who will probably walk next year. (Sun's will try to do good with Dragic and if Dragic wants to come to Houston...I'm sure he will sign max extension and be here)...Rockets will have to give up multiple assets for this to happen) OPTION 3: If Bledsoe takes the Houston deal for 2 years at the MAX...Rockets will have to do a sign and trade and again have to give up multiple assets to make it happen. OPTION 4: We get neither and find another PG. Bledsoe is young and injury prone...so not sure what he will decide... I would say Option 1: 20% Option 2: 30% Option 3: 35% Option 4: 15%
technically it would have to be unguaranteed/partial guaranteed, s&t's needs to be at least 3 years before options (but dont need to be fully guaranteed)
I bet you 1000 dollars nothing happens tomorrow...lol I'm sure negotiations have broken down by now...you guys are setting yourselves up for heartattacks
I'm guessing Option 4 should have a higher % Despite Rondo's personality quirks I see him as the more likely candidate for the Rox this offseason. As already mentioned, Rubio could potentially be moved since it appears he and the Wolves are far apart on a contract extension.
