    Hi Guys,

    Wanted some input on this.

Parents live a couple neighborhoods over. I ordered new locks for them since most of theirs are old and none of the keys match.

Is it a bad idea to have my house and their house keyed to the key?

My parents have a key to our place and I do to theirs? It is just one more key but I thought it could make life easier.

We both will have the Kwikset smart key locks so rekeying isn't an issue.

    Wanted to hear your thoughts.

Why not? Unless your mom is a perv (probably). Makes total sense either way.

I find it very hard to believe that someone that steals your parents keys will know that they also fit your house locks.

There are cons and pros to this. If there's enough trust in between everyone, there's no problem. However, should someone lose one key, you'll have to re-key BOTH houses and it will be a pain.

I have the same key for my house, my beach house, and my in-laws house. It's a lot better than having a key chain weigh down your pants!
