Wasn't the original plan for Correa to return from injury in time to play in the AFL?

The plan was he might play in the AFL. I think he had a setback.

No setback (i don't think he's even started any sort of rehab)... just that it was a pretty bad break, and that time-table was always going to be on the rushed side.

Luhnow had originally floated the AFL idea just prior or right around the time of the surgery... but after the surgery, it was obvious that he'd need a full 6-9 months of recovery time prior to resuming any sort of baseball activities (thus the revised timetable to have him ready to go full-strength by the time ST starts).

There is no sense in rushing him back sooner simply for the AFL... even if he was ready to go, I think he'll get plenty of opportunities to show what he's got at ST and he'll start the year at AA.

Interesting that Delino DeShields is managing a AFL team this year. Too bad Delino Jr won't be there.

Is there a difference in his pitches or mechanics over the last couple of games? I wonder what we're seeing here. A fluke or the beginning of something meaningful?

I read that he made some adjustments to his mechanics. Since then he has been less "hittable" and looked much better. Thru 8 now with 10k's

If true about his mechanics that's really welcome news. Props to the coaches, too! Let's hope it sticks.

The kid can hit. Power may come, power may not, but he has situational skills. Fun to watch a guy that gets in the box with a plan.

Looks like they are going to jerk around and blow the win for him. That will aggravate me.

Tyson Perez tightropes out of a bases-loaded situation to close out a 1-0 win for Corpus Christi.
