She spammed it like crazy in season 2, even hilariously using it once to beat the kids in an airbending race. The disconnect from her past lives that happened at the end of last season may be preventing her from using it now.

Can you believe there are only...2?...episodes left?

It feels like there's going to be so much in these last two episodes! Definitely the best season yet, imo.

Hoping Bolin flips a switch and learns metalbending. It's probably going to be some stimulus that makes him do it (saving Opal or something).

Although they should really just do away with Opal and have Bolin save Asami using metalbending. It would give Asami something to do next Book and develop a Bolin-Asami relationship.

Season 4 is looming, so all I hope for is just a lot more badass action. I always thought that this season's villains were rather sympathetic ones--I mean, they stayed in comically high security prisons for 13 years, and now that they're free they seem able to still have good senses of humor about it--but now that
they MURDERED the Earth Queen (weird how the show refuses to use the word "kill")
, it's on like Donkey Kong. Bring 'em DOWN! Korra bout to lay a serious beatdown, +/- regaining her Avatar state somehow.

And forget Asami. Her days as a romantic foil are done. By next season she'll have four cats and dander all over the airship, and even Korra will be like, "I'm flattered, but I like to think of you as a good friend."

Just watched the 2 part season finale and wow, what an emotional rollercoaster that was. That was an incredibly well executed and awesome cap off to the best season of Legend of Korra thus far. And man, did it ever end with one hell of a closing shot. Dying to see where it goes from here in season 4.

Man that is quite the set up for season four at the end there. Almost made me cry myself at the very end.

I hope after season 4 if the creators can't continue the Avatar series they can at least go to a different network and do a new series that is somewhat similar.

    So good

    Just watched it. Awesome.

It's still odd - though cool - that they're actually killing people on this show. People have been murdered in each season - and Korra nearly attempted suicide in season 1 if you buy the theory that she went to the edge of the cliff to jump off and kill herself.
But now I'll hate having to wait for season 4.

Don't worry guys, Book 4 will be out soon enough. Nick cant wait to be rid of this show... until they want it again and screw it up. Petition to put this show on Netflix!

I was really hoping they would explain how Zaheer got so damn good at air bending after not having any powers before. Plus how was he such a bad ass WITHOUT bending? We have seen characters that can hold their own without bending (Sokka, Ty lee, kyoshi warriors, Zoko as the blue spirit) but this guy had to be on another level to be sealed up on a mountain prison guarded by the white lotus.

I really love how they didn't make a big deal about Jinora and her hair. Is it possible that Jinora has already surpassed her father as an airbending master? Not physically but spiritually and mentally in some cases. I mean, Tenzin gave up when Korra was fighting Zaheer before Jinora had to step in.

Metal Bending > Lava Bending. Bending lava just seems... messy.

That animation doe! The last 3 episodes, the animation was on steroids. I wonder if they had to change the animators for some unforeseen reason or they just splurged on the last episodes. I really hope ALL the episodes in Book 4 are like that. The other animation was beautiful too, but man, that **** was spectacular.

The body count in Book 3 Korra - 5
The body count in all of Last Air Bender - 2

Dreamshook, you should spoiler some of the stuff you said, lol.

But holy moly, that was an amazing conclusion to the best Book in LoK so far.

That final battle between Korra and Zaheer was so reminiscent of Aang fighting Ozai in TLA's own season/series ender. And like you said, DS, it was animation on steroids.

The animated battles this Book have been on fire. This last battle, the battle in the metal city in the middle of the night...just whenever there's been fighting, the animation has rocked!

I think Zaheer studied the ways of Guru Laghima before he was imprisoned - I guess he just lucked out when he got the ability to airbend?

Jinora looked like a carbon copy of Aang without her hair / with those arrow tats. Pretty cool.

Anyone think Korra is going to die? It would be somewhat of a swerve, but this would definitely establish her legacy/"legend." I mean, she's fought equalists, Spirits and an anarchist. Even though we've only really see Wan, Aang, and some of Roku/Kyoshi in the past, I honestly think no other Avatar has been through anything like she has. Her legacy is pretty well defined, at this point. Even though she's not even 20 yet? lol

The lavabending swerve was unexpected, but logically fits more, than metalbending would. Lava is just molten rock anyway - it seems like it's a nice intermediary on the way to learn metal bending.

I was expecting Su to betray Korra and co. somehow - when Jinora mentioned that the poison was metallic, I half expected Su to not give a damn, and maybe even catalyze the poison somehow.

All in all, BEST BOOK EVER (in TLA). Gotta admit, with how dark the show is, I'm starting to like it more than TLA. And I was such a big fan of TLA.

The one thing I didn't like was the Spirits aspect of the Book. They began with the world being open so that spirits and humans could go to each others' worlds, respectively. But then the "DIY Bending" storyline took over, and the spirits weren't really focused on anymore. Aside from that Jinora Astral Projection thing, we rarely saw spirits on-screen.

Amazing finale. Nickelodeon sucks for basically making this show inaccessible even to the fans. This show has gotten so dark, it's about the level of some of the anime on Crunchyroll now.

Great finale. Favorite season of Korra so far.

    I really, really liked having
it end with Korra basically shell-shocked from that ordeal. It makes you reevaluate the stakes of everything you just watched for the whole season. Happy endings where everything is rainbows and puppies are no fun. Give me shattered psyches and Pyrrhic victories every time.

Great action and everything throughout the whole season was really, really "tight" in that it told a pretty grand story without needing a ton of airtime to do so.

Also I enjoyed how much the major fight scenes going on mirrored the Avatar TLA season 3 fights:
-Korra/Zaheer being fought in a style quite like Aang/Ozai
-P'Li going out on the same gimmick as Combustion Man, with a bit of a new metalbending twist
-Ming-Hua/Mako having an overpowering Grey DeLisle character get tricked into defeat by an opponent who up to that point was on the defensive (Azula/Katara)

I did kind of giggle at the stupidity of
Ghazan's death because he did the "I'm taking you down with me" deal and the good guys were like "okay, bye" and all but took one step to the right to avoid the cartoon anvil.

If I had to give a one sentence description of this season without spoilers, I'd quote Alfred from The Dark Knight, "Some men just want to watch the world burn". And like the last Batman movie, there's a cost to achieving victory. I can't wait for Season 4.

This 2 parter was worthy of the original series finale. I had to rewatch the Combustion Girl scene 5 times in a row. They save that enlightenment music for epic moments like when Toph first metalbended.

My only annoyance was that Korra's voice acting was pretty much grunting the whole time.

I agree with the lahigma theory, just super coincidental that Zaheer got airbending.

For those who haven't seen the whole season yet, there's no spoilers below, I assure you.

Overall season 3 had the best action of all the Avatars. Unfortunately there wasn't any room for character development, for the most part.

Anyone else think like me that Bolin and Opal's kid would have a good shot to become the next Avatar? It's gonna be earth next, right? And look at their bloodlines: Bolin would have earth and fire from his parents, and Opal would be an airbender who also happens to be directly descended from Toph. Too perfect.

Why are you guys so worried about spoilers all of sudden? The same handful of posters that frequent this thread have never worried about spoilers because they post after they have finished an episode.

But Korra would have to die before their kid was born, which seems unlikely. Maybe their grandchild or great grandchild could be the next avatar if the creators do a third series (which will hopefully be with someone other than nickelodeon. Netflix?).

Yeah not season 4. It would have to be another series, if they can get funding for it to happen. The internet needs painfully for this show to get off of Nickelodeon. Perhaps that will allow them to use the word "kill" or "murder" as if it weren't a curse-word or something.

Nice season 3 finale review, full of spoilers if for some insane reason you still haven't watched it. I thought this part was interesting:
