Anybody got any idea of what the 53 man roster might look like?

Yeah, we have to get down to 75 by 3pm on Tuesday. I think the cuts will come today or tomorrow. Some teams have already reduced their roster to 75.

The roster currently sits at 89, so that's 14 moves that have to be made. David Quessenberry still counts against the roster. He will eventually move to the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list. Not sure if it'll happen by Tuesday, but definitely by Saturday when the cut to 53 is made.

Some tough decisions coming up. Huge one will be at nose tackle. Powe has been starting. Matthews played very well on Saturday and there is Nix. Who gets cut? Any chance they keep all three?

What about WR? AJ, Hopkins, Posey, Martin, Thomas, Labhart, EZ. The first 3 (maybe 4) are locks.

    They'll keep all 3 DT's I think. Mathews can play 3-4 DE

Think it would be a shame if they didn't keep Labhart, BOB being a NE guy has to see the similarity between him and Welker. Sure-handed slot recievers who have great route running to get open are a premium in this style of offense.

I'd say it's a pretty good chance they keep all three, they don't stay in base packages long so they often need 2 DT's

As to WR, I think they keep 6 of those 7 and I think EZ would be the best bet to make the practice squad.

Uzoma Nwachukwu, but everyone calls him EZ. Undrafted rookie out of A&M last year. Was on our practice squad last season. I don't think he's really worthy of a roster spot. Does he play special teams? I don't recall seeing him there. He has 3 receptions on the preseason. He had 3 receptions last year too. Alec Lemon looked better last year. Travis Labhart looks better this year.

how do people get EZ from that name? there aint even an E in it! lol

i haven't been to impressed by him... if any of the unknown guys make the roster it should be Labhart imo

No clue how the nickname came about, but that's all I've ever seen when talking about him.

Really the only thing he brings to the table is straight line speed, and since the Texans don't really have any deep passes in their playbook, or a starter capable of throwing the ball deep, that's largely wasted.

That's his nickname. He has been pretty good. Playing 2nd team offense.

    Non of these are surprising.

I liked Lemon, Sidbury, and Powell.

Lets see if they make it through waivers and can go on practice squad.

These guys are part of the first wave of cuts down to 75. They have to get down to 53 next weekend. Very unlikely that any of these guys are being considered for practice squad seeing as how they have 20+ more guys to cut that they like more.

Fair enough, they haven't showcased any deep plays and they don't have a starter capable of throwing the ball deep. Better?
