You can't hit receivers anymore. That's the way the game is with all of the lawsuits so I understand why the NFL is doing it. The hitting safety is obsolete in the NFL.
This is why I don't believe he has a long term future here. If a safety can't cover, he's almost worthless.
Those secondaries are bad ... gotta pick up new guys. Why was Bouye playing so far off Sanders? Got burned twice
He showed pretty good coverage on Welker earlier....but that doesn't fit the narrative that he's not good at it.
Seriously, Peyton didn't want to end the half trailing Fitzpatrick. He only taunted DJ after he got the lead. I'm blaming the safeties and the secondaries. Once maybe, but not twice. You can't let that happen twice.
I agree dj may not be worth keeping. Sad for him but they need to do what's best for the texans. 2nd game in a row he gets a 15 yd penalty.
It's just a scrimmage, their goal isn't to win the game, it's to keep everyone healthy and take a look at the backups to see who gets cut.
You can hit them, just not above the shoulders. So if the only thing available to hit is the helmet and shoulders, DBs have to "just say no"?
Our defense this season is going to be scary and Special teams has been outstanding. If our offense is at least average, this is a playoff team.
Yep. 1s look pretty good all around. We won't know until Week 1 when everyone is out there but the defense is going to be very good. Excited to see what Joseph has left in the tank.
I have a stupid football question, being new to it and all ... (from Asia) If we can't hit the receivers like before, and we have a surplus of WRs on the roster whom we need to cut anyway, why is it not possible to play WRs as safeties? Looks to me that speed is of primary importance if you're going to be a safety.
The big deal this game is how pathetic the offense is with Fitz at the helm. Manning shredding the backup D isn't a problem.
