Any deal with Bledsoe or Monroe will be made with both teams and agents involved. Suns can't trade Bledsoe where he won't sign; teams won't negotiate without knowing what the 'a s s e t' cost is first.

If Mr PM's info was spot-on then DM the GM and the SarvervilleFollies know what the cost of acquisition is. Thus, the matrix of the player's signature.

Monroe's an interesting mention. At least until he signs the QO.

He might not be the perfect fit here, but he'd be a step in the right direction. Hell, anyone not named Harden or Howard is just trade bait here anyway.

Westbrook was a good defender whose defense took a nosedive after his injury. He shoulders a higher scoring load, in a very stupidly designed offense. The Suns offense actually dipped quite a bit in lineups with Bledsoe and without Dragic, who does most of the shot creation. Bledsoe is a great fit next to players like Dragic or Harden, but in a vacuum I'd take Westbrook.

Bosh was the perfect player and it didn't work out. At some point you have to try to field a team and stop waiting. The key pieces we acquired, namely Harden and Howard, won't be here forever.

Rockets are always hustling for new assets.

The Rockets couldn't make a deal until Gee and Hopson are eligible on Sept 15. But would the remaining unguaranteed contracts be enough to match salaries on a $14m deal? Can someone put together a specific trade scenario where this gets done?

I'm sure if we got Bledsoe, he'd be good for 40 games or so a year.

I see zero reasons for Flip to do that deal.

I was responding to a specific; yet, you are correct. And BTW how different are the Rox from any franchise trying to win?

(Bulls are different; they're run more like a small market franchise.)

Wiggins or Bledsoe? Glad I don't have to be the one making the tough choices in Minnesota.

Terrence, Canaan, Covington, Powell, Gee, Hopson is enough salary for Bledsoe on a max deal.

Of course, but Phoenix figures why the hell not? Maybe Minnesota plays ball, and helps the Suns raise the stakes a little for what they can get back for Bledsoe.

I would hate to lose Canaan, especially for an injury prone guy like Bledsoe.

Can we maybe replace him with Nick Johnson or something?

I had a hunch that PHX was holding out. There's no rush to do a deal for Bledsoe, so why not make a pitch to Minnesota for Love?

A few interesting other parts that we suspected but that were never confirmed:

"He would consider only a max deal in a sign-and-trade, which would be four years and $64 million, with any other team, sources said."

If Bledsoe, who has remained firm in his salary position all summer, does not get a max deal this summer, he intends to sign the Suns' one-year qualifying offer for $3.7 million and become an unrestricted free agent next year.

It seems to me like Bledsoe has 3 options:

    1) Sign PHX offer (4 years $48 million)
    2) Sign a max 2 year offer (With PHX or another team...Houstons supposed offer)
    3) Sign the QO

I just don't see how Bledsoe can sign the QO. He's got a significant injury history, and he's only played half a year of great basketball.

The market he wants doesn't exist. No one is going to give him 4 years $64 million or 5 years $80+ million.
