Backing up Dwight next season I can see, starting at 4 and playing alongside Howard is role many hoped he could grow into. Is he ready tho? I hope you are right Plow, D-Mo certainly has the potential to be special.
D-Mo's been converting FTs in the low 60% range going back to 2010-11, with no signs of improvement. In the NBA, he's a career 27% shooter from beyond 15 feet. Donatas isn't about to magically turn into one of the best 3pt shooting bigs in the game. This talk of him converting 38-39% of his three-pointers can only be described as pie-in-the-sky nonsense. He'd be much better off on a team that didn't ask him to be a stretch-4.
I think he'd be much better off with a coach who realises that a player with one of the best offensive post games in the league, allows him to play him in the post.
I don't have access to Synergy data, could you post some objective evidence supporting the claim that DMo is one of the most effective low post scorers in the NBA? Thanks.
Motiejunas had 10pts (5/10 FG, 0/2 3PFG), 8rebs, 2stl in 21 minute against Nene. He was superb on defensive end, both post-defense against Nene and team-defense, forced couple turnovers and a lot of missed shots incl. airballs...
The issue with Motiejunas is probably not if but when for me at this point. The guy is really talented. He needs.... 1. Proper coaching (post him up) 2. Better coordination (just continue to improve with age over next 2-3 years) 3. A slightly improved jumper
You hope one of the Rockets good players leave, so it would do wonders for his career? You didn't leave with the rest of the LOF's?
Have to disappoint you, but he's rebounding better just because there is no defensive 3sec rule in FIBA and can stand in the paint as long as he wants, that's why he was leading defensive rebounds in Euroleague just season before he joined Houston Rockets.
This might work on some people, but I have watched his games and this is false. He plays the 4 mostly and it usually up top defending the pick and roll. Go back into your hole you little spiteful gremlin.
Lithuania vs. Slovenia starting now for anyone whose interested http://www.sportotv.lt/rungtynes/2751/draugiskos-lietuvos-vyru-rinktines-rungtynes-12
Dmo was best player on the court in first half by far. Good offense and defense, guarding guards on perimeters seems norm for Dmo nowadays.
I'd say he's actually anchoring Lithuania's defense during this exhibition games cycle, constantly directing other guys on the defensive end. Good BBIQ.
He was a very good perimeter pnr switching defender w/Lin during the season. They had a DefRtg of 97.4 in 576 minutes together. His problem on D has always been too many stupid fouls. They don't call fouls over there like they do in the NBA. Guys are running over and through screens and also knocking over defenders w/o calls. At least the no calls seem to be going both ways.
