Ok. So I've been away for awhile, and of days pick today to stop in for a gander, and holy hell.... people here are definitely drinking the cool aid, and they aren't even needing to be brainwashed in order to take a gulp. I looked back a few days ago when Cyberx came out and said more of less that he's "heard nothing" about Bledsoe or Dragic to Houston, and it was hilarious to see literally pages of posters afterwards actually get MORE excited about the possibility of a Bledsoe or Dragic trade.

First common sense point of the day -

-When EVER has a marquee player come available and Morey NOT garnered interest, and in most cases blown up every phone around the entire league trying to get that player???

Why was is it any shock that Morey would have interest in Bledsoe? Is betting on Morey to be "interested" in an available player that much of a ballsy gamble??

-That being said there is now even more than ever the whole "I want to believe the "insiders"" so much that I'll defend all of their honors to anyone who doesn't jump off the cliff blindly alongside them.

Let's get this straight please. Its not that hard for an insider to get verified & vouched for around here. Cyberx & I believe Doc Rocket in the past have been vouched for. Plowman, King Drew, BasketballHollic, etc... I have respectfully asked Plowman if they could PM or email a mod in order to get them to vouch for them. They don't need to give up their sources, but its not that hard for a mod to get enough sense from the conversation in order to get vouched for that their information is coming from a solid source.

I do think Plowman & even Basketballhollic/Jopat have alot of positives they give to the board so I hope they do get vouched for, but to my understanding it hasn't happened yet. Plowman has a solid reputation from all the way back in the 90's so he's an asset to the community. However they have to understand that just a couple weeks ago right before Plowman made the statement that Bledsoe or Dragic were coming, some poster came on the board, claimed to be an insider, and Clutch came out to dispel that notion by noting that he doesn't know how someone can be an insider while living in Indonesia.

Certainly I can't be that crazy for asking for verification during these types of days where anyone can impersonate anyone on the web.

Following someone off the cliff of hopes and desires is totally ones right to do so, but for the sanity of the Rockets fan community I would hope that we all learn to treat these rumors as just that... rumors.

Hell... Id be willing to bet that Cyberx himself would tell you to not take his rumors(as close to the source as he might get) that he hears to the bank. The NBA player market has a very real human element to it, and with any human element there are mood swings, and changes in position. Nothing is set in stone.

Anyone that is sitting around on pins & needles waiting for Morey to make some huge splash is setting themselves up to be MASSIVELY disappointed. The team that is currently put together is the team that Morey most likely put together to start the season out.

Stay sane Rockets fans, and try to enjoy the rest of your Summer.

If (a big IF) the info from the PHX insider is true that Suns are laughing at what we're offering for Bledsoe, it means they'd be laughing at the same offer we had for Dragic. So translation: we were never close to getting either Dragic or Bledsoe. Hmmm...

Denver has Ty Lawson. They don't have a real reason to pursue Bledsoe or Dragic.

No, but the Rockets have enough if they are willing to go all in. It would hurt, but it's doable, but is Dragic/Harden/Howard enough to win it all, because that's your core? Essentially, Morey would be swapping Parsons (plus a lot of assets) for Dragic and Ariza. And where does that leave the four and the bench?

Why did there have to be logic behind what I posted? lol You're the one who's trying to find deeper meaning in something nonsensical that I had posted.

If calling out the obvious that 1) you've been a member for 4 years 2) only had 27 posts and 3) decided to come out of lurking to make sense of something MEANINGLESS can be considered as a personal attack then I apologize.

As far as whether or not cyberx got my joke it wouldn't have mattered considering there would have been other posters wondering about Dragic (serious or not).

But for future reference I'll add one of these  and maybe this :) to let posters know the sincerity and seriousness of all my future posts.

Absolutely. It's been Plowman all along who was in front of this story. CyberX confirmed what Plow has been saying all along.

I think this completely invalidates drew. Dude said it was DONE and gave us a date only to find out weeks later via cyberx that it was pre-lim stages only and Morey passed and dragic was never in the picture.

Plowman... I'm not sure about but I'm taking everything he says with a grain of salt.

The conspiracy theorist in me would like to believe that the "deadline" Plowman gave us falls in line with the first day Afflalo could be dealt (August 28th) to get a three-way going with Houston/Denver/Phoenix.

    lol

True but a Bledsoe and Lawson is a good combo. If Faried won't sign an extension then he is in play.

Cyber is saying... no Dragic...Or Bledsoe.....

But what basket do I put all my little hopes in now cyberx? :(

    Rubio? Rondo? Faried?

Please let us get at least one upgrade. Lost Parsons, Asik, Lin, our 2015 first.... got bamboozled by Bosh, missed out on Anthony, Lowry etc...this off season has been the biggest gut punch ever.

I think they were right in saying that Morey had talks with Phoenix as it seems they did so.

    Reg Faried:

Does Morey love him? I'm sure he does. Who wouldn't? He's a solid energy big who can run the floor with the best of them, and is currently looking on about to be making 2.2 million dollars in the final year of his deal.

The main question reg Faried is, does Morey view him as a player he can get for 1 year at 2.2 million (bargain & key player for 2014/15 season) or does he view him as the player he will be on the contract he will be on the following season afterwards when he will hit free agency?

My guess is Morey would be rather limited in what he would give to pursue Faried right now knowing that he's most likely going to be viewed as a 1 year player that they will banking on as a one year contributor that could possibly walk after next Summer if he commands a "Parsons' Like" salary.

I do think that Morey will give up a piece or two for a one year Faried rental, but lets not get carried away. If a bigger piece becomes available in trade at the mid-season mark, Morey would only make a Faried deal with the notion that they would actually be in better position to make that trade afterwards than before.

I wouldn't bank too heavily on trading for Faried. Next Summer in free agency maybe we should keep him on the short list, but its far too early to see what that list currently looks like.

I know it followed that post chronologically, but that makes no sense at all. Maybe he will clarify.

Lin is a very marginal loss, Ariza and Parsons is a wash. losing Asik hurts but not as much as everyone things. Its not like he played a lot of games for us this past year.

Didn't he just cast strong doubt on us getting either Bledsoe or Dragic?

    lol

If Faried is refusing to sign an extension then the Nugs may be looking at offers. The only problem is many other teams would want him too and can maybe offer more than us.

How did CyberX confirm what Plow has been saying? Plow said Rockets WILL get someone at PG position before the season starts. It's completely different from Morey pursuing someone. We all know that Morey is looking to improve the team all the time and is interested in anyone.
