For all I know the 1st best team out of timeout was Philadelphia. Just win. No more pee-pee games.

The Rockets were the 4th best offensive team overall last season. It shouldn't surprise anyone that a highly ranked offensive team is also highly ranked on offense out of timeouts.

I guess what we can say is that at the very least the coaching staff are not such idiots that they are often actively sabotaging the team's ability to score during timeouts.

What would be interesting is to compare where teams is ranked on offense and defense overall with where they are ranked out of timeouts and see if any team performs that differently out of timeouts than they do in regular situations.

It was one twitter post not a dissertation. I'm sure he keeps the negative in house. Also, Morey isn't a native Houstonian so he lacks the negative, self deprecating, self loathing gene.

Also, Morey did say something about defense. He got Ariza at the 3.

Damn, everyone is so cynical and jaded. What the hell has happened to Rockets fans? We are quickly turning into one of the worst fan bases in the league and it is sad.

I think it is surprising considering the Rockets' offense is known to be more potent on fast break and less efficient on half court.

Pretty much every team's offense is more efficient on the fast break than it is in a half-court setting. It's just easier to score when you have a man advantage or mismatches resulting from transition than it is going against a set defense.

But given that there are only so many fast break opportunities in a game, it would be difficult to become a top 5 offensive team solely on the strength of fast breaks.

What do you expect with such a high player turnover and 2 first round exits in the last two years? Dmo, TJones and Harden are the only players left from the start of the 2012-2013 season.

It's possible that we'll only have 4 players back from last years 54 win #4 in the West team that played more than 984 minutes(25% of regulation minutes). It would be 5 if Garcia returns.

Has any team ever won with such high player turnover in an 1 or 2 year span?

I would venture to say all occasions matter?

This. Can't stand reading people call our approach just a gimmick offense of just running and jacking 3s. We try to take advantage on the break like any team and we take more 3s than other teams, but there's still a whole lot left after those 2 things. Our offense is extemely potent and it's not a gimmick.

..... to me, that would suggest that we're good even without running plays - which is a bad thing how?

15 years of playoff futility will do that to some people.

.. but the GARM is reading more like the D&D nowadays with agendas, excuse factories, and one-track-minds.

Here was the only timeout that mattered last season: the timeout in game 6 before Lillard hit the game winning 3. And we failed.

Turnover was necessary, because we had a team with no chance to compete. Continuity doesn't help if it's mediocre continuity.

Sorry, but I don't agree. You've been drinking too much of Morey's Kool-Aid.

Championship teams have to start with some core that you build around for continuity. Sometimes you need to keep a pair of 7's or King+ 9 instead of drawing 4 cards every time to try to get a straight flush.

Miami had Wade and Udonis Haslem for 3 championships. Sure they probably don't win the last 2 without Bosh and LeBron, but sometimes you need to keep guys around for chemistry.

San Antonio has won 4 times with their core 3 guys since 2002. Duncan was already all star and champ, but Parker and Ginobili were only playing their 2nd and 1st season respectively and weren't all stars yet in 2002. Even a bench guy/3P shooter like Matt Bonner has been around since 2006 and has 2 rings playing only around 650 minutes each of those championship seasons.

    That's just not true.
They knew what they were supposed to do and McHale gave then an excellent plan. It was simply poorly executed by Parsons as he inexplicably chose to overplay Lillard underneath and to the left. That gave him the sliver of daylight he needed to get off an absolutely incredible shot.

    Great plan.
    Poor execution.
    Miraculous shot.

But go ahead and continue to blame the coach if it brings you peace.

It seems you severely underestimated the haters and detractors.
