That may be possible. I love Bledsoe's upside, but he comes with risks and isn't worth the max. As long as we don't have to sell the farm for him, I could live with a 14-15 M per year (4yrs) deal since the last year would be an expiring contract.
I don't think it has anything to do with Dragic being a former Rocket. I think it has everything to do with the fact that he was an all-star caliber player last year.
As he develops, I see DMo having a lot of Sleepy Sam Perkins in his game...esp. the Seattle version. (RIP those GREAT Rocket squads he helped vanquish). Whereas Sam was drafted 4 in the greatest draft in NBA history, DMo is getting there as a project. Sam played on/with some great teams/players...complimented Superstars and knew how to win...dedicated to it. He often subjugated his game for the greater good of the team. I know this might sound whack, but that's the guy I was thinking of.
If Bledsoe is on the block, would you make a run at a S&T given the money that EB wants? Feels kind of risky.
I would for sure, depending on the price. Bledsoe/Bev would give us elite PG defense the whole game, and he's still on the rise as a player. Only worry I have with Bledsoe is injuries, but that would never stop me from making the right deal for him.
What I have distinctly heard more than once from one of my sources is BOTH Terrence and DMo MAY be gone and Terrence is almost certainly gone.
Perkins was more of 3-point shooter than post player, but I see where you're coming from. Post or 3, not much in between. Donyell Marshall was in that same mold. Dmo's primary option is in the post. He only shoots 3's when that corner play is called. I prefer that he refine his post strength and post passing more than his 3-point shot. He's a lot closer to being good in that aspect versus the perimeter. I do understand that the stretch 4 is the best for for this team though. Channing Frye is probably the most realistic goal for DMo, and that's fine by me.
Wow is all I have to say. It is one thing to let go of one of the two. Getting rid of both seems a little steep unless we are getting another 2 pf's in return that can compensate. We have a very thin roster right now. So much unproven talent that it will be nearly impossible to get past the first round. I hope Clint is ready sooner than later.
Oh, snap! Cyberx's gonna get the goods (?) before heading out on vacation! Will it be: Cyberx: My source ain't heard a damn thang. And he would know. Peace out, muhf*****s! Or: Cyberx: (addressing Plowman) Well, raise my rent. You are the Kid! (see also: "Blazing Saddles")
+1 for the Big Smooth reference! Also, IIRC Sam's 3 pt shooting was bad when he was a young player and just grew / developed as he matured in the league
