The quoted poster should be banned and sent to Somalia, where he can live a life free of the taxes and other burdens that American society heaps upon him.

You do realize that GWB didn't round up and deport Muslims even in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, right?

    What a tool.

We saw how Americans and the government reacted to 9/11.

Can you imagine what the reaction would be if it becomes common to have weekly suicidal bombings in the USA? Imagine shootouts between Muslim militants and the police being common here.....

I am not saying it will happen, I am not passing judgment on Islam....

What I am saying, is that after see what happened post 9/11.... the USA would literally quarantine muslims in the USA, if not erradicate them.

The government would COMPLETELY take away our rights at that point, and the idea that America wouldn't stand for it rings quite hollow after 9/11.

Not really THAT different than what Putin has done with the Chechnyan boogie man.

Radical ideologies become more attractive as groups are made more hopeless and marginalized. Death and martyrdom in pursuit of a noble cause you share with your peers seems preferable to living a dull and subservient existence. Young men are always trying to give meaning to their lives and old men are always willing to exploit that. It applies in the Middle East, Ferguson, the American Revolution and evrywhere else.

Testosterone is a hellava drug. Thats why the real philosophy of Jesus tough so profound, is unrealized.

True if things actually got that bad yes we would see the US round up Muslims but things didn't and part of the reason is that most of the Muslim community in the US doesn't want to see suicide bombings and terrorist attacks either.

I agree that people like ISIS are unrepentant nihlists who have no interest in accommodation, cooperation or negotiation. They aren't all Muslims. The problem with framing this as a clash of civilizations is that is buying into the zero sum thinking of people like ISIS. That there can only be one civilization, Islamic or Western Secular, while the other has to be destroyed.

Great point. Look at Northern Ireland. I don't think it is just coincidental that much of the Troubles took place at at a time when unemployment was bad and the economy stagnant. I also don't think it is a coincidental that peace has came at a time when both the Irish and UK economy started doing better.

While there will always be some people, like Osama Bin Ladin, who although well to do still embrace a violence and nihlism those people will find less people to recruit to there cause when things are going well.

Back to the wall, do or die is a big motivator. There is no negotiable end for ISIS, they either win (which they won't) , die in a blaze of glory, or slip away to fight another day.

I think it's fairly universal, youth with no real prospects for being successful in the mainstream look to create their own societies and define them in ways that they can find success. ISIS are the Punks of the Middle East.

Except they aren't. They are fascists who don't want anarchy. They want a strict, religious state, that doesn't tolerate others. They oppress everyone, as though inferior, including their own women.

Anyone who believes that a religious group should be rounded up and deported (where exactly would we send American citizens who happen to be Muslim, anyway?) from the United States doesn't deserve to live here.

So you think people who have different beliefs than you should be rounded up and deported then?

No, I'm saying that people who have beliefs that are counter to the very core of what makes America "the land of the free" should voluntarily self-deport to someplace that more closely matches their belief system.

Religious freedom is the entire reason that the USA exists, but we have people around here who are apparently willing to round up and kick out people of a particular faith.

I say, if that is what you believe, you should pack your **** and GTFO.
