If Rondo comes, i can see him making a impact like Artest in 08-09 to the Rockets. Toughness and championship spirit

You underestimate his connect four prowess.

I wouldn't give up Bev for Rondo, it solidifies your bench of constant Defense. But I would give up anyone else not named Harden/Howard though.
If I'm Morey, it's worth calling and making an offer not including Bev

How much would Bev be in line to make?
Wouldn't that determine or at least become a factor in trading Bev now or prior to next season???

Seems like the Celtics could do better. Does Rondo make that a playoff team? The pieces seem to fit but that is a knucklehead haven. If they don't make the playoffs does Rondo walk?

Or not, if we acquire a PG upgrade and PBev is pushed to the bench...

I like Rondo, but I wouldn't give up the NO pick for him because of his injury history.
I am also aware, that it will be very difficult to obtain him without it.

    You...you c**ktease, you.

That's all you're gonna give, is it?

Well, it's a lot better than what this thread has devolved into. Any more devolution and the thread would be crawling out of the primordial muck as some strange new life form.

IMO, a very narrow view of RFA. Narrow in the sense that any alternative to RFA represent a huge shift to the CBA.

If we turn RFA into UFA for 4th year 1st rounders(earlier for non-1sts), then small markets would have very little ability to retain their players when pit against bigger, more attractive markets. Their only advantage would be the 3% extra salary increase per year and a 5th year. Which is really not a lot. Imagine Milwaukee trying to keep anyone that's good when a Florida or Texas team offer better weather and no state income taxes. Or if LA or NY come calling. How many cries of imbalance if we adopted this rule?

On the flip side, if we turn RFA into another team option for rookie contracts, then it make draft picks 10 times more valuable. And make NBA salary fully out of whack when in conjunction with the max salary rule. 5 years team control is insane if you think about it.

Abolishing RFA only create other issues. If we go by the article and suggest players get all the power of choice, then the only system that would work would be a hard cap with no rules under it. You know what kind of market Bledsoe and Monroe would get in that situation? Less than they can get now. Because a world where the superstars get paid what they're worth is also a world where the "upper middle class" like Bledsoe and Monroe get squeezed due to inflexible cap rules.

He hasn't signed yet. "I'm gonna sign the QO" was probably his agent's shot across the bow.

I hope mention of the Bledsoe / Monroe article is simply fodder for us to chew on (I've seen it anyway) and to back up what Plowman's heard separately rather than an offering of proof something's gowanns to go down.
