Console Wars Thread! PS4 vs. Xbox One vs. Wii U Fight!

The WiiU is nice... I'm glad I picked it up, as even the few games I have for it have already seen enough time to justify the system's existence (full backwards compatibility with Wii titles is a big help as well). And the central reason I bought the system (the next Xenoblade) isn't even out yet.

IMO there's no question the WiiU has the best lineup of the three at this time, though I expect that to change starting next year. Only titles I'm regularly playing on my PS4 at the moment are Dynasty Warriors 8 and FIFA (having recently finished The Last of Us). Still have to pick up several non-exclusives, but I'm not in a hurry. I'll probably be grabbing several PS4 titles on Black Friday. Might even buy an XB1 if there were a compelling enough bundle deal or a price drop, but I'm not necessarily expecting either one.

 

You proved my point pretty nicely.....XBox people spend way too much time justifying their purchase and talking down Sony. Someone sounds bitter ha. Sony already announced that they are not going to be doing many more HD remakes.

Really though, at least Playstation is giving people the option to play old games or rent games that they might not have had a chance to play before. When I checked, it was only a couple or few dollars to rent a game.....did not check how long you get it though. Also, they are trying something new with the Playstation TV and Gameshare which lets you play your games with friends online even if they do not own a copy. You are judging the entire system based on what comes out in the next 3 and a half months?? Until Xbox gets better exclusives, no one with a PS4 has a reason to switch. Uncharted, TLOU, Little Big Planet, Infamous, Killzone, Bloodborne, God of War, etc....blow Gears of War, Sunshine Overdrive, Titanfall(which I have heard rumors part 2 will be on PS4) and Halo out of the water. Halo was fun for the first few....but they rely on that game so much it is crazy. I get why people like Xbox and I get why people like PS4. If I could afford it, I would have all systems.

BTW....if we go just by exclusives, Wii U wins...and I don't even own one of those.

 

For everyone who keeps popping off about the "Xbox exclusives" this fall, all I see is Sunset Overdrive (which looks great and all, but not system seller great). I've beaten Halo 1-4 (in several cases more than once), so while I may buy MCC it's not a reason for me to buy a Xbox. Frankly, if my wife didn't want one so badly for Dance Central I'd have no reason to get one.

As I've said before Halo = Bungie as far as I'm concerned, and I'll be buying Destiny on my PS4 -- not the Xbox.

At any rate, it's very obvious who the fanboys here are. There are fanboys on both sides, but if you're talking about belligerent idiocy on this forum it's almost strictly Xbox kiddies.

Destiny is not going to have the success Halo did... Might be a good game but its not gonna touch Halo.. Sorry to disappoint your high expectations of Bungie bringing out something relevant even to PS4 owners but its not gonna happen....

Anyone that says MCC is not a console seller is flat out out denying the truth.... Come this November Xbox One sales will be higher than ever and probably even higher than PS4....
Its just not the ability to replay these epic games, its the ability to go back and play classic Halo maps online and with friends... For some of us that actually have memories of something called MULTIPLAYER online and offline The MCC is going to be a must have and a way to re-experience it but better than before....

PS4 sucks and always will suck with multi player and online gaming..... This is why a lot of you out there don't understand why HALO has been so successful. Because they are not a one hit gem... They have more than a player campaign.... Sure Halo would have died down by now if it would have been on PS.... Microsoft made console online gaming what it is today alongside HALO.....

 

Lol, Destiny is the most pre-ordered new IP in history. It will easily outsell prior Halo games because they were Xbox exclusive. This game is available on 4 different platforms, if you don't understand that then you don't understand math. There's a reason Bungie wanted to go multiplatform. Also 343 has no clue how to make multiplayer, see: Halo 4.

All they're doing is re-doing Bungie's existing work. GTFO.

Really thought I was the only one that felt that way about Destiny.... Its overhyped and for what reason? Ill tell you why.... PS4 owners think the great Bungie will continue to dish out Halo's for them to play.... Destiny will NOT be Halo...... Destiny will not be as successful as Halo........ I don't care if it breaks records for pre-orders and day 1 sales its not going to be as great as Halo was....... Will not be buying into the hype or spending my money on Destiny... Will skip and go for the real thing.... MCC

I got the Xbox One at launch, and got the PS4 within the last few months, but some posters on here (need not be named) make me feel kind of dirty for owning an Xbox One, haha.

For fanboys on either side, is it out of the realm of possibilities that both systems can be good, and can be successful? Or is it a winner-take-all proposition? As many [very reasonable] posters have pointed it, doesn't it ultimately boil down to an individual's preferred exclusives, if he or she had to pick just one console?

Regarding Destiny, I can't speak for anyone else other than myself, but I greatly enjoyed the beta, and I think/hope the franchise will be an overwhelming success.

 

That is why you have an Xbox and I have a PS4 then....to me it is not BS at all.....because we have different things that we want in games we play I guess. Halo is like the Transformers movies of video games...they just keep making them for some reason...I played the first 3 before I called it quits. That game does not in any way warrant me purchasing an Xbox One. I would honestly buy TLOU over any game on XBox now and it is just one remastered game. It is that good but you would never give it a chance because it is not on Xbox. I have played Titanfall and it is pretty fun.

Like I said, if I could afford both, I would buy an Xbox. Both systems have great games but for some reason Xbox people will not accept that and get so defensive! It really reminds me of people at my work when I tell them I have an android phone and the first thing they say is "Why don't you have an Iphone?" It is out of their realm of thinking that I prefer it over what they have.

There are these things called Battlefield and Call of Duty (both available on PS4!). I hear those are pretty successful.

And, this may shock you, but people actually do care about types of gaming besides multiplayer shooters.
