Cops are trained to shoot to kill, not disable... that being said a gun shouldn't have been drawn in the first place, at least from what i know.
lol i dont even know what to say... i am having fun imagining you as an archetypal white bigot sitting in front of this computer tho
LOL, shoot to disable? That's hilarious, you never shoot someone unless you are trying to kill them. In fact, no one should ever even draw a weapon unless they are prepared and willing to shoot to kill.
guy: hey man that was racist and inhumane racist guy: hey man you're racist for calling me racist and inhumane guy:  great material for my vivid portrait of the times...
Nah he just likes attention. He posts these silly little comments all the time. Trolls thrive off butt hurt and attention.
cops should be trained enough to shoot to kill when necessary... shoot to disable when necessary... of course they arent trained that way though.. too much work/thought for the lowest intellects in society
I don't know how relevant race is in this particular situation. I mean, yes it is a fact that black people are more prone to be victims of law enforcement whether it be constant surveillance or brutality, but I don't think this case really has much to do with it People should really be talking about how cops are trained for situation where they do have to react to bodily harm. I really doubt that cop has really has previous experience with encountering a physical altercation with a much much larger man without any backup. He probably panicked just as any other inexperienced person would.
i dont watch any really.. it just seems logical for a trained personnel with a gun to have those skills. you know, the people who protect us. they should be skilled and fit.. but dont even get me started on that...lol
How do you remember to breathe? Self defense 101 is you shoot until the threat is eliminated. Depending on many factors, this can be a lot of shots. People on dissociative anesthetics don't feel pain and only stop when their heart stops or their spinal cord is severed. I'm not saying the rogue scholar was on a PCP type drug, but you don't have any idea what you're talking about. Scholar knew he had just robbed a gas station. Cop didn't. Cop got caught flat footed. Scholar didn't want to go to prison. And the story goes... Really? Cops are normal people. It's not fun getting dragged through the ringer by your department for a use of force report. However, this officer has probably had thousands of contacts go normal without a hitch. He probably figured he was going to tell these scholars to find a sidewalk and he's be on with his business. Scholar(s) probably thought, "****, we're going to prison!" And the story goes... Are you a fool or do you just play one on the interwebs? No one is trained to injure. CHL classes, military, police, et al. I thought every mouth breather knew that. I give most people too much credit sometimes.
They have to post billboards to get people to take those jobs. You really think they are going to be the cream of the crop? Like I always say, Cops are glorified postal workers with slightly higher salaries. Their priority is protecting themselves. They don't get paid enough or trained well enough. Your safety is in your hands first and foremost. Cops are there to clean up after I'm done with someone trying to hurt me or my family.
I agree with some of that. However, all departments aren't created equal. I work at a very reputable department that only hires a very small percentage of the applicants. We'll have about 200 people test and they'll hire one or two. You wouldn't believe who applies.... Most of my co-workers are college graduates and/or veterans. I'm gonna make about $90k this year. If you go work at Hitchcock PD you'll make about $29k a year. You only need to have a peace officer's license and a pulse. There's a huge disparity between departments and it isn't fair to lump all departments together.
If the cop car had a dash cam we know what really happened but since it didn't we have to figure whos telling the truth.
