For those who want Rondo... FWIW (don't know if this radio host is legit or not...)

Source: Sacramento Kings/Boston Celtics deal now at "80 percent" to be completed before season. A deal that makes sense, given how the Kings gave away last year's starting point guard.

Damn, yet another team in the West gets better?

I think is a bad trade ... Rondo for McLemore, Williams and some 20's picks(if they find chemistry) mehh.

It's not really bad for anyone, you can't get jack **** for an expiring point guard, and Sacramento are trading pretty much that.

Wouldn't Jones or Dmo, Isaiah and NOP 1st be better?

boston could well be leveraging that to get multiple draft picks, after all, rondo is a free agent next season, so if they can get a 2016 or above pick out of sacramento, it's probably a better deal. It might also come down to what we don't have to offer for an alternative (albeit not rondo level) and the ability to upgrade pf as well.

He'll tell you what we all know in that according to his sources the teams have had talks. It may happen but nothing conclusive as yet as trade talks are fluid....

If Daryl Morey wanted to trump the offer he could.

I read somewhere that Danny Ainge likes Patrick Beverly. Who knows what's true, but that might be part of the price for Rajon Rondo.

Not saying we're interested in Rondo, although he might be Plan C (no Bledsoe? no Dragic? etc).

Clint Capela can be traded at the end of the week.

Yeah. We could fairly easily beat that offer.

A few things that would bring Rondo's value down:

    1) He's not a spring chicken anymore. 28 years old with 8 years of experience
    2) He's an expiring contract
    3) He had a significant injury last year
    4) He's a point guard at a time when very few teams need point guards

I don't see many teams offering much more than Sacramento did.

Sure, what GM doesn't like Patrick Beverley?

But in the past 7 weeks, Boston has drafted Marcus Smart with a high lottery pick and committed 4 years, $32 million to Avery Bradley, both great defensive PGs.

Also, while Beverley is currently a tremendous value, one need look no further than Bradley's contract for the impending financial outlay it might take to keep Beverley beyond this season. That will certainly factor into teams' thinking about dealing for Beverley, as well as the Rockets' own calculus on whether or not to include him in a larger trade. (That said, I still think they hold onto Beverley unless absolutely necessary to acquire a legit star player.)

If Boston is trading Rondo, which means they're rebuilding, then Beverley makes no sense. He'll get paid next offseason which is before Boston can have their stars in place. Boston would much rather have one of our players under longer team control. DMo, Jones, Capela, Nick Johnson, NO's pick, it will be some combination of those pieces if they do trade Rondo here.

Honestly I'm scared about Rondo. To me he has the biggest upside but carries the biggest risk. If he's not fully healthy we basically waste another year of Howard and Harden. But if he goes back to being a defensive and playmaking beast, we quickly vault into Spurs/Thunder stratosphere.
