Lin & Yao are two of the more controversial players in Houston history....I get it and so do the people of Houston. Now can we please refocus and get back to the original topic of 36 pages earlier, which is the end (in all likelihood) of our championship hopes for this year. This being due, up to this point of time, to mismanagement and thus resulting in one of the worst offseasons in recent NBA history.
getting rid of JLin has been the highlight of the off season thus far. you make a very weak argument..
Not saying Lin would bring us the chip....saying that keeping Lin's expiring contract, along with the first rd pick (and even Parsons at 900k) would likely have given us the necessary trade bait to get a top line player. Not having any of these pieces has made us a less desirable trade partner and we immediately fell out of the talks for Love, Rondo, etc.
The second wiggins became available we were out of the love talks. I wouldn't exactly rule out trading for one of other guys just yet. Having Lin would not have helped in a trade. The player plus the contract was viewed as a negative around the league. His expiring isn't the same as other expiring contracts. Also with the contract lengths being lower than they were in the past, expiring contracts are not exactly the same value as they once were.
Lin and parsons are two separate issues. We needed to get rid of Jeremy's contract. Jeremy is not worth 15m to Morey and les. No one wants Lin unless you throw the 1st round pick.
We were in sell mode on Lin for whatever reason. The offseason is NOT over but the sum total of what we got or might get back for lin is not looking too good today. I do think a little hasty to lose lin but more so because we haven't yet effectively filled the pg position. Bbev is on a possibly bum knee. If we dont get some more help at pg then you do have to wonder what another year of lin developing with harden and howard might have done. To me basketball taken to the 2nd level requires chemistry and development between players. Nowadays in the nba and including morey, guys aren't given a chance to gel. I love to see players that have been with each other do things that you only see through familiarity. Spurs are an example. True they are damn good players but its the chemistry that puts them over the edge. I do want a 3rd star but I hope morey and the 3 stars will get that time to develop a few years. Otherwise we could have developed traditional chemistry in house with guys like parsons, lin, lowry, courtney lee etc then added a star or 2 LATER. Instead we emptied the closet and have been backfilling ever since. We were lucky on its own to get harden and howard. For me I am hoping to develop some pick and roll harden howard and then maybe somewhere soon bring in good pg or pf to build on that for hopefully some years. I think thats the only way. The jury is not all the way out on being disgusted about losing jlin. We still have to see what he does in LA. I hope the best for him.I like jlin but lets see what we get first at pg before you go apeshi**t. If lin blows up in LA and we suck even more and then dont have a pg then yeah I might be a bit digusted. Cant say that yet.Lets bookmark this thread and see.
The OP is obviously trolling. Replying to him is just like talking to a brick wall. I am getting more and more to believe he is just acting dumb in order to perpetuate the Lin topic.
Anyone with a pair of eyes can see who is the troll here. You just do not want your lame thread to end. Admit it. By the way, I am not going to respond to you anyone because I do not want to feed the troll.
78k views and 700 plus replies due to trolling??? MamboRock please try to at least think before you post and please quit posting about Ming whom has been the subject of the past several pages and has NOTHING to do with this topic.
I'd rather have Lin's TPE instead of Lin and a crappy late round pick. Love and Rondo are free agents next summer and so far no one seems to interest Minny or Boston in a deal.
You're a couple weeks behind on the whole Kevin Love trade thing. He's going to Cleveland for Wiggins.
I create only one thread this summer and it generates traffic of approx 80,000 views and 700+ replies for Clutch Fans and the owner of the site takes away my thread starting ability. I guess if the topic isn't pro-management or anti-Asian then best of luck to the other OPs out there. This was not a LOF thread and the message was presented in a clean and professional manner. The original topic, like it or not, was one of the site's most popular ones during this summer and was not deserving of the penalty of thread starting banishment. Clutch, you have a reputation of being fair and I humbly ask that you reconsider this unfair action that has been taken against me.
Yeah right, I was an active participant of the discussion about Yao in the last few pages. Are you intentionally trying to lie or are you lack of mental ability to keep track of who has said what? Actually I don't blame those guys who tried to switch the topic to Yao. Perhaps your thread is so lame that they wanted to change it to a more meaningful topic?
Such a dumbass post. You have the same refrain that every LOF has had over the last two years: 1) Clutch owes Lin fans for "generating traffic" to his site 2) Critics of Lin are anti-Asian 3) Calling Jeremy Lin JLin instead of Lin. A thread title with the word "Disgusted" does not sound very professional. It sounds like you have a pro-Lin agenda.
