Wilson was also treated for injuries after the shooting. Not sure what injuries....everybody agrees that a struggle happened before the shooting....exactly who was struggling and why is disputed.
Cops will shoot as many bullets as they have. When they carried revolvers that held 6 bullets, the average shots fired were 2-4. When they started carrying 9mm autos the average shots fired rose to 8-12 bullets. It is human nature, not a sign of a malicious act.
This is ridiculous this is Trayvon Martin all over again with conflicting news coming from both sides. Put interior and exterior dashboard cams on all cop cars and put cams on all officers. Divert funding from the military to fund this.
That just shows a lack of training, there is never a need to shoot someone 9 times to eliminate them as a threat. If a random civilian did that, it would be one thing, but no one with any level of training should essentially empty a clip in someone if for no other reason than it's a waste of ammo and it leaves you needing to re-load in the event of a second threat appearing.
Cops carry two extra mags on their belt. You guys can scream lack of training all you want but how hard is it to tell someone not to shoot a guy 10 times? When you give uneducated yokels guns and a badge you suffer the consequences. Seriously 80% of cops really don't need a gun. If anything make them go back to a revolver.
There's no need to divert funds from anyone else to do this, all you have to do is get them to sell their APC's and most of their assault rifles, sub-machine guns, and sniper rifles that they have no need for in the first place.
The thug knew had had committed a robbery. The cop did not and approached the situation in a different mind set. Cop got caught flat footed...and the story goes.... I bet, when the truth is fully known, the guy didn't have his hands up and didn't say "don't shoot me". The witness who heard this is his co-defendant in the robbery. Every reason to lie, no reason to tell the truth. And once one hysterical guy screams it, the others pick up and go with it as if it is God's Holy Word. Mob mentality can set in in a minute. I've seen it happen more than once. I know cops. I know folks like the deceased. I can read between the lines when the police chief spoke. I know cop speak. His chief thinks it was a good shoot and I think he's probably right.
Guess you've never seen someone on PCP, a drug that disassociates the mind from the body, and what they're capable of.
Shooting someone has nothing to do with pain tolerance and everything to do with CNS damage or loss of blood pressure. Cops are horrible shots.
Heh, funny enough, I have...and I could drop them in less than 3 shots If I felt the need. When you physically disassociate one's mind from their body, they are no longer a threat. Emptying a clip on a human is something that a scared untrained civilian would do and we should expect more from our cops.
We can, if you can drum up enough support for a constitutional amendment. Personally, I don't see it happening.
Of course, that's only true if you ignore other potential witnesses. For example, this rapper live-tweeted the thing - so he's on record from the minute it was happening, long before anyone had heard of this place or thought it would become a national story: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-Ferguson-police-character-assassination.html His photos and tweets at the link above.
Ok dude. I've been on the night shift beat for a long time. You know what, just you tube folks on PCP fighting cops. When their heart stops they stop. You can toss your three shot theory out the window.
Fair enough, I disagree. There is never an excuse for or Taking 9 rounds to take down any mortal human without body armor is simply unacceptable and is a sign of terrible training.
