I've been getting the Sunday paper for free for over a year now. I'm calling tonight to please ask them to stop littering on my driveway.
She pretty much sets to kill and gets after it: https://twitter.com/alysonfooter After reading McTaggert's story, it's fairly obvious JJO fanned flames with leading, pointed questions ("Can you believe they let Appel pitch on MMP's sacred ground....??????"), made even more ridiculous because it's not the first time Appel's thrown at MMP.
The players don't own MMP. The team can do whatever they want with any player in their organization. Were any players upset that the whole CC Hooks team played an entire game on their "sacred" field? I guess JJO didn't ask that question to any of the players their feelings to try and drum up some clicks that week.
Law was damn near belligerent to Brian T. Smith. Told him not to use "ad hominems" with him, because he had been around big league clubhouses a bit
What's up with singleton I know it's his first year and he needs time to develop but I was looking up his stats and it was mind boggling that his BA was 170 ish. I hope next year he's more comfortable and can prove why he's been the best first base prospect for a couple years.
Our GM just said that if Appel has a good second half, he will compete for a major league spot in spring training.
Of course he will... why wouldn't he? He's 24 and by his own admission was not mentally prepared or in sound mind to be in Lancaster. Had he started the year at AA, and eventually gotten on track, he likely would have been promoted to AAA by this year and make a push for a September call up or be on the opening day roster next year.
Pure lip service. He'll be competing for a rotation spot sometime during next season though, if he pitches well in CC.
He never "lies"... but he won't often say what the real plan is for somebody. Springer call up last year was "always a possibility.." and while they danced around keeping him in the minors to get "playoff experience" (bwa-ha), they were really offering him a contract for which had he signed, he likely would have not gotten that oh-so-important playoff experience. But again, he never "lied" about it. (that being said, he's been more up front about Appel this year... saying that he was one or two good starts away from a promotion to AA, and he got it after one... albeit there were two horrible ones that preceded that good start after he made the comment in the first place).
Whatever Appel might be up next year, he might not If he is up, he might do well And be nice trade bait
