It's a Kostas Papanikolaou mix by LFC YNWA <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/RtjqHAs9Roc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> It's just something to get hyped for the season!
Lol, better hope he can give us at least half the production Chandler gave us, because we are going to need it desperately from the bench.
Very interesting video. The entire thing is fast breaks, corner threes and chase down blocks. I don't want to seem overly-optimistic, but that guy looks like a damn near perfect fit.
I know that was a highlight video, but I really liked the effort Kostas showed on several of those blocks. He never gave up on a play. We can really use that kind of defensive "want to."
I love the idea of how passionate he is and those chase down blocks tells me something about his competitive nature. Most successful athletes have one thing in common - heart. If he is able to bring that kind of fire to practice all the time, regardless of how much of his skills translate into the NBA, he and the other competitive teammates will push each other to get better. He could end up being the most undervalued asset in the Ppat trade.
BUMP If Ilyasova becomes an option for us at some point this year, maybe Kostas is someone they'd be interested in as part of the trade package
Maybe Larry Sanders (am I getting his name right?) would fit their style. He had some bonehead moments the last season or two but I'm sure he must have some sort of talent as a C/PF to get that contract.
Good take. This thread contains a really broad range of opinions on this kid. It's fair to question how he will adapt to the NBA, whether he lacks lateral quickness, etc... However, I find it amusing what narrow criteria some here use to evaluate. He is absolutely NOT Ryan Bowen with a three point shot. Equally absurd are any comparisons to Spanoulis, whose problem was primarily about attitude. No one knows how Kostas will eventually pan out, but I am more inclined to think he will be a contributor than a bust. Guys who play with this kind of heart and passion are fun to watch, regardless of any holes in their game. The Battier comparisons earlier were appropriate. Remember Scola? how about PBev? We love seeing these guys give their all, whether they are all-starts or lower rotation players. It may take him some time to adapt, but hustle players who play D and have at least some offensive game tend to earn playing time sooner rather than later. Very glad about this signing.
Well, I conclude a few things from that last video. 1. He has a little bit of nastiness in him, as shown in some of those blocks. As in, he wants to dominate and humiliate the offensive player. I like that. 2. Actually has better hops than I thought, at least at times. 3. The Greek uniforms are so bad that he will probably welcome our Rockets' fashion train wreck.
Yeah, based on Morey wanting to keep 2015 cap space intact, acquiring Ilyasova would be that last step to becoming a contender and only likely after we acquire another big piece (*crosses fingers that Plowman is right*). I bring this up now because it demonstrates one benefit of giving KPap such a big deal. It would take just him and one other small contract to match the size of Ilyasova's deal. Since Milwaukee was already aggressive in trying to make a deal for KPap just a month ago, having the ability to keep him on a non-guaranteed deal if he rocks or drop him with the team option if he sucks has to be appealing to them.
He's the Chandler Parsons replacement. And it seems like a better version. If this guy can play legit defense...... oh my god. I will scream with joy.
