Why is high crime rate in the black community ignored

My experience of reading this board is that you have always been speaking on the side of the blacks whenever there is a debate that the black race is involved. On the contrary, whenever there is a debate that involves the Asians, especially the Chinese, you have always taken a stance against them. You have made thousands of posts. What about trying to quote a few that dispute my assertion.

Well the truth of the matter is that if you choose to highlight blacks' crime rates and statistics, you're instantly labeled a racist and get shouted down by folks who aren't open to a dialogue on the issue.

What could be causing high crime rates? Could it be poverty? Lack of a father figure? Lack of respect for the rule of law (F the police, anyone?)? A music and film culture that glorifies drug use and pimpin' hoes? A desire to "act hard" and "no snitchin'"?

Not sure -- perhaps somebody else has the answers

I would like to apologize to everyone, especially the OP of this thread. I originally intended to question the objectivity of someone concerning his opinion on racial issues. But then instead of responding to my doubt, he tried whatever he can to divert the topic to a debate as to whether I am a LOF or not, with the purpose to discredit what I said. I admit I have joked before that I was a LOF, just like some other posters have joked that they were Hakeem Olajuwon, Tracy Mcgrady, etc. But I have never said anything crazy about Jeremy Lin. Actually, now I see being labeled a LOF is the ultimate insult because of what some LOF lunatics have done to this board in the last two years. That's why I lost my cool once he started accusing me of being a LOF.

Anyway, I hope we can put the thread back onto the right track from this point onward.

Again. So how can they be the same when it seems one race is targeted more for it? Of course it won't be the same.

 

Even if you concede with posters such as Bigtexxx that Black culture creates an affinity to disrespect authority and have fathers not being there for their children, you press him on what the ultimate root cause for this cultural tendency is such as genetic predisposition or some other historical matter then he becomes silent. He knows that if he flat out states genetic predisposition as the reason then he is ultimately the racist that we claim him to be.

He is basically stuck. He can't flat out state it's genetic predisposition or else his racism would become even more apparent but he also cannot admit it's 240 years of slavery and 100 years of disenfranchisement since it will undermine his agenda that it's entirely their fault. He will dodge this question.

Perhaps. I do not agree with many of BigTexx' political beliefs, but I do not find him to be a bad person at all. Just someone with whom I have a difference of opinion. Actually, I don't think anyone on this board is really that bad at all. Just go to Yahoo! and read a few comments and you'll know what I mean. I find that most on this board have fairly intelligent and respectful discussions- we all just get a bit emotional about certain topics- I'm the worst at this at times.

 

To the posters discussing "causality", I would like to make clear that I do NOT believe there is any kind of genetic predisposition.

Many of you trying to say that "it's due to slavery that existed up to the 1800s" are not helping the cause. Trying to make an excuse like that doesn't help find a solution, it merely offers an excuse.

 

And here I thought finding the root cause of the problem is the first step in solving said problem.
