I don't see what's ridiculous about it........ take off your homer shades and you'll see it too. 4-6 is up for grabs.......... Mavs, Warriors, and Memphis/Blazers are in that conversation............ i think Dallas is better than all

I'm a Mavs fan? Why? Because i'm not slurping the addition of trevor ariza? We lost three key pieces this offseason and added ariza........ we're not better and Dallas is. That's the only point i'm making here.

again for ariza being the #1 option the first time around is completely different than knowing your role and understanding it as a 3rd option at this point

Anything to downplay the guys who left!

    Real Egal said it well.

    Bolded x10000

Well, Chandler Parsons sucked, we'll just replace him with Ariza, no problem! Ariza shot 40% on threes, so he'll clearly do that again and he'll play lock down defense!

    Going back to his last year in LA, his 3PT%: 31%, 33%(HOU), 30%, 33%, 36%, 40%.

Leading young Wizards wasn't easy - may not be any easier here Trevor.

And Jeremy Lin, like Chandler Parsons, sucked, won't be missed and Isaiah Canaan and Ish Smith will replace him easily. LOL

Those summer league stats easily transferable!

Omer Asik, another crappy player, who the Rockets won't miss! The 6'6 Jeff Adrien and 6'7 Joey Dorsey can do everything Omer can do and more!

Anything to downplay the guys who left! Easily replaceable!

Sorry, many don't see it like that. Defense is an underrated art. Also, the lose of Asik isn't a big deal, he didn't fit in well. Lin aka mister turner over isn't better than a new found Troy Daniels. TJones will improve because he is young and talented. Dwight will be even healthier and has taken steps to improve his game. Harden is still the best #2 in the game and we will see what he does on the defensive side, especially flanked by Ariza.

There is a negative tone to your posts that you try to disguise as being real and its not.

    You are this guy.

yup rockets players will "only get better and play with chip on shoulder" while the leavers r easily replaceable, irrational confidence will never leave this forum, not with the departure of lin legion thats for sure

Ariza being the no. 1 option in the 09-10 Rockets team?

Dude, you are just being ridiculous like a LOF to find excuses.

Ariza iwa the 3rd or 4th option at best in that team. Both Martin and Brooks took more shoots than him and even Scola and Landry scored more than him.

That's a bad season for Ariza in the Rockets no matter how you will see it, and its right after he got a fat contract.

I am not saying this time around it will be the same, but its definitely a concern.

His reference to #1 is a technicality not worth arguing about. The point was that there was no clear #1 offensive option on that team, they were all role players.

Canaan is a better scorer then Lin, it's not even close,

Im not a big Lin fan at all, but how do you figure Canaan is a much better scorer than Lin, is it based off of what he did in college? From what I remember Lin averaged close to 13 pts and like 4 dimes a game, that's nothing to sniff at. I hope Canaan pans out to be a tremendous player, but I haven't seen him enough in regular NBA games to tell.

I know, I know. Defense is hard to quantify, therefore it's hard to understand...

I would place the Rockets 9th behind the Suns. I think the Suns are better. Rockets have no talents after Harden and Howard.

calm down there. the point was to see that this situation is different from the previous. As far as the wing position yes he was the #1 option at the time but as someone stated above, everyone on that team was a role player. Who did each team throw their best wing defender on. it certainly wasn't battier lol. btw martin is irrelevant as he was traded for late in the season.

It really depends on the growth of Harden. Can he be dominant 2-way player?

And if Howard continues his play like he did v. Portland over the entire season, this team will still contend for a top 4 seed.

But it all comes down to Harden.
