I'm sure he'll find some work for Qualls in a blowout game soon.

And then have Darrin Downs and Josh Fields nice and rested when nobody else is available.

    All last-place teams, mind you

Yea, hopefully we can get the guy who had the second highest on base percentage in our lineup tonight, out of the leadoff spot...that would fix things

To re-iterate again... he didn't get that OBP turned around by batting leadoff. The streakiness continues with him.

And I'd advocate putting the guy with the HIGHEST OBP as leadoff, no? (especially the guy who's spent the majority of the season there and accumulated most of his elite numbers there... then again, it seems like he can bat anywhere, unlike some other players).

Josh Fields has had the most schizophrenic season I have ever seen. He will completely dominate for weeks, and then be completely terrible for a few outings.

    Dude has a 1.99 FIP and averages 12.3 K's per 9, yet has a 4.84 ERA

Yep. Prior to last night, only 4 games out of his 29 where he allowed runs. He should be sent down for the sole reason of walking Jordan Schaefer. :)

He's the Robbie Grossman of relief pitching.... streaky and not mentally there at all times.

In reality, both guys are in the "good, but not good enough" range, and would not be put into such high profile roles on "average" teams.

Yes, but since the 2 came against southern Oklahoma...I'm good.

The stros are 5-2 against the last two playoff teams they faced so I guess it evens out?

Agree with this, although I'm still a Robbie Grossman optimist. Long term, I think he's Alex Pressley with more power. And that's a nice 4th OF.

Fowler activated tomorrow; Marisnick will play RF when Fowler returns; Springer reaggravated his quad and will be shut down for at least 2 weeks

If we are such a SABR focused team, why would we move Fowler back to center? He has cost the team the most runs on defense, -13 compared to average fielders, while Marisnick is already considered 2 runs better than average. This makes no sense to me.

Why do you think they're making these moves?
