So am I. I want another crack at a good (or at least decent) performance ASAP to get the taste of that first game out of my mouth. I hope the team is just as eager.
Did you see Cousins play last year...??? He was garbage. I'd rather see Savage and Case get more playing time. They need a running back. Foster may not play and you don't want any of your running backs getting too many carriers during the preseason (may ware them down and get them banged up before the season starts). Plus with the releases. I stopped reading right there and started lol'n...
Old man Ronnie Brown? Averaged 3.5 yards last year; 157 yards on 45 attempts. (Slightly worse than Dennis Johnson last year)
Born in Houston; played at Kansas State; undrafted in 2011; played for the Cardinals in 2012; claimed by Philadelphia but failed his physical in 2013 and hasn't played since. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Source: Texans sign RB William Powell to a 2-year deal.</p>— Josina Anderson (@JosinaAnderson) <a href="https://twitter.com/JosinaAnderson/statuses/498993189215539200">August 12, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Signed old man Ronnie Brown as well. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Ronnie Brown and William Powell join RBs Arian Foster, Jonathan Grimes and Alfred Blue on roster.</p>— John McClain (@McClain_on_NFL) <a href="https://twitter.com/McClain_on_NFL/statuses/499009401441636352">August 12, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I believe I read somewhere that they are going to practice together (not in full pads though) for a couple of days with the Hard Knocks cameras rolling...hopefully we get some cameos would help temporarily quench my undying thirst for a Texans Hard Knocks.
I'm wondering if he could be the goal line back when Foster is hurt? I'm not sure that you want to trust the young guys in those situations. Some aged touchdown vulturing in his future?
The fact that they're giving so much attention to the rb position means either Foster is done or re-injured his back and hamstring which again means he's done. This is all fine and dandy but what are they doing about the secondary?
I still can't figure out the Andre Brown cut. Watch Indy pick him up and he rolls up the Texans for a couple of scores. In other injury news, if Brooks is slow to comeback, what pick would it take to get Boone from the 49ers? He might get paid now if his replacement, Synder has a significant knee injury.
There really aren't many players available. Anybody signed at this point is very likely to get cut. There's a reason why we're 3 weeks from the start of the season and nobody has signed them yet.
Yeah I think we are going to roll with who we have, but it could look a lot different once we get some of our guys back
