You're right, nobody wants that again; but a certain portion of the fanbase, I think, believes that any critique of the team is going to drive them away into the arms of another. It is those, that you can rest assure will be littering the board with phrases like, "It's only one preseason game, Bridgewater and Manziel were never part of the plan, Clowney will be a great OLB because".

With everything that goes on with the team, and all the changes, they have complete and blind faith and all I'm saying is where does this come from, it is not deserved nor justified. I do not think a pacified fanbase will ever get what it wants.

Ah yes, the ignorant fanbase out in force with pitchforks and torches looking for blood after one preseason game is a much better look. Better yet, the fanbase that is calling to abandon the franchise till the owner sells the team because of one bad season followed by one bad preseason game is really what I want to see.

On another note... Clowney STILL only has THREE sacks and the defense got straight ram rodded.

    Let's go Fitzpatrick...!!! Smh..

The problem with this team is not just the QB, nor the loss in a meaningless preseason game.

    It's the whole culture thing.

This is a freaking dumb ass team, stupid wasted drafting picks, non stop dumb fouls and penalties, moronic play calls.

Its a top to the bottom issue. You may think that getting a new coach could change lots of these, well, so far not so good.

Last Sat, there were more than several times the showed romeo crennel on the tube, and he looks completely lost.

Its not just the feeling or losing a game, but also the feeling of hopeless.

Not claiming to be an insider or anything, but I did here things from inside the draft room that we actually had zero desire for Bridgewater. We were actually thinking of trading up to Seattle in order to get XSF (because we thought Seattle would be the last team to take him)

Never even looked at Teddy to draft. XSF was always our second guy, then we were gonna go for Garoppolo or Savage.

Take it for what its worth, but we actually lucked out because Minnesota thought we were gonna take Teddy so they traded ahead to grab him and saved us from trading ahead to seattle just to get XSF.

Uhm, I was speaking about the collective, two years without Peyton notwithstanding it's been a big pile of poop. All while I believe Mcnair's attitude to be, "If we win, we win." I'll be counting my money either way.

Geez you make Remii's outlook look like a little ray of sunshine. At least he doesn't attack the fans for supporting (blindly or otherwise)

Just state ur opinion on the team and move on. No need to downtrod anyone who cares to find some positive. Go bet against the Texans somewhere else.... I'm sure dallas could use another tool.

Right, the patient, reasonable fans are the problem; not the knee-jerk, hate-filled negative ones that obliviously carry their biases on their sleeves and can't find a single square-inch of non-scorched earth to stand on. Compromise, reason, context, patience... those are the calling cards of "blind" homers. Shouting "the sky is falling" proclamations each and every single time the team doesn't live up to your own personal expectations 100% - that's where the truth lies... Obviously.

I said this repeatedly last year; looks I’ll need to dust it off again: I don’t understand why some of you bother being fans. You’re aggressively terrible at it, and it doesn’t appear to be even remotely fun for you. You don’ watch games to be entertained; you watch games to validate your own vitriol. A victory is never just a victory, “It wasn’t against Peyton Manning!” you’ll shout; or, if it was, “Yeah, but.. it wasn’t in prime time,” or “The Broncos weren’t healthy,” or… pick your constantly moving target…

I feel sorry for you – it seems like a miserable way to watch sports.

Do you really think that Peyton Manning playing or not playing had anything to do with the Texans making the playoffs those two years? If so I sort of feel bad for you.

Call me old fashioned but shouldn't a professional team actually you know, DO something positive to engender fan support?

The Cows are a special case. The only thing that surpasses their arrogance is their stupidity. I have to laugh at all of the folks up here talking about them like they are a football team as the Cows stopped being about football years ago. Now, they are all about being the Dallas Cowboys, America's Team. Gotta love those bathroom selfie's with strippers...

Actually, I do believe this as well. You think it was some sort of coincidence that the two years the Texans made the playoffs were the same years that Manning wasn't playing in Indy? If so, then look what happened the moment Indy got a first rate QB. The Texans were back on the outside looking in. It's like some sort of weird Egyptian curse that dooms the Texans to being bystanders as long as Indy has a great QB (I call it the curse of the Bottom-Line Bud).

Well so long as you believe in things like Egyptian curses I guess you can believe in that superstition as well. However, anyone grounded in reality knows that Peyton had no part in the Texans making or not making the playoffs those two years. Worst case scenario the Colts win the division and the Texans just make the playoffs as a wild card.

You think this is bad? Try being an Oilers fan during the Bill Peterson years. Not only did your team win squat but you had the added bonus of being featured on the NFL Football Follies year after year (to much well deserved laughter). You guys are wussies!

But it is written on the Papyrus of Ani that as long as a superior quarterback resides in the city of Indianapolis so shall the Texans of Houston be banished from the NFL playoffs. This shall thine penance for the man called Bud.

Hillboy, the Texans made the playoffs in 2012. In fact, they posted their best record as a franchise. Please stop this; you look silly.

Shhh! I know...I was just having fun with BTG. All of this gloom and doom is depressing. If I didn't know better I'd get the impression that you guys actually expected the Texans to be a good football team this year and anybody who follows Houston sports history should know that's not possible.

IIRC, that was Luck's rookie year, correct? And he threw a crap load of INT's and fumbled a lot that year. He wasn't elite yet.
