They would have to fire Jeff Hornacek before that happens. Hornacek is Jerry Sloan reincarnated. That team is going to quit over his dead body. PJ Tucker will have a heart attack on the court before they tank. Doesn't matter if they trade everyone they have with talent. But as for the ownership, I agree. Sarver makes Jim Crane look like George Steinbrenner. If we can convince Phoenix that they will save money and retain future prospects via draft picks or otherwise, then we will have their ear. The Suns are a franchise ripe for the picking, of expensive veteran talent that is.
Would love Shved on the Rockets. Rockets need a true playmaker off the bench. Potential to be the next Dragic.
I wouldn't take those two bad contracts (KMart and Barea) just for Shved, but I do like the idea. There's definitely something there with Minnesota.
Hornecek inherited a 30 win team. So he clearly did not sign on to lead a contending club. The team won't quit on the court, but he's not going to win with a lineup of Thomas/Green/Tucker/Morris/Len.
It depends on the player's contract. If a date is not written in then it's sometime early Feb when all contracts become fully guaranteed. These dates may be be more urgent to the Rockets: Sep 27 - training camp begins, 20 player roster limit Oct 27 - eve of beginning of season, 15 player roster limit The 20 player roster limit could be important if the Rockets are trading out 4 players for 1. Beverley, Canaan, Smith Harden, Daniels, Johnson Ariza, Papanikolaou, ? (15th roster spot) Jones, Motiejunas, Adrien Howard, Dorsey, Ndumba-Capela Free agent signing Draft pick signing Partially/Unguaranteed contracts: Covington, Gee, Hopson, Powell That's 6.57M worth of unguaranteed money that can be traded for 150% + 100k back. It might be a case of use it or lose it with these unguaranteed contracts. Then again I don't think Les or any owner in the League would approve a trade to consolidate these assets by paying up to 9.9M for a deadweight expiring/unguranteed deal just for use as a potential asset at the trade deadline.
So hypothetically, the following trade in mid-September would work from a salary matching perspective? Papanikalaou, Gee, DMo, Hopson, Powell, Canaan FOR Max S&T Eric Bledsoe
320 pages about mostly nothing! If you eliminated all the junk in here(aka stayed on topic--see title) it'd be a short thread.
Actually if it stayed on topic nobody would've posted because I dunno if Cyberex actually replied on the thread. Although tbh I like this thread because it has become the random dumping ground of CF, because people just post on this instead of making random crappy new topics the board looks cleaner.
Would you add Ryan Anderson to your sig of potential acquisitions or do you think he will not recover from his back injury? IMHO there is no way Pellies pay him to be the HIGHEST PAID BENCH PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE

This may mean something or it may mean nothing, just sharing.
too many question marks at this point about Anderson for me. I suppose IF we acquire that PG upgrade, I could see an Anderson acquisition. But to just trade for Anderson without acquiring a point guard (or the #3 guy)...can't see it. I THINK Morey still wants the flexibility to participate in 2015 free agency with cap space. At least as long as he doesn't make a trade for a #3 guy. Ariza is not the #3 guy. Ariza is a role player that could be traded away if necessary to have cap space. Now...if somehow we acquire Dragic or Bledsoe or some other front line PG...then I can see the possibility of trading for Anderson and participating in 2015 free agency with trade assets instead of cap space.
