http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/mavericks/post/_/id/4703035/how-much-better-can-chandler-parsons-be I hate readings this...since this is something i thought the rockets didnt exploit enough and it would be one way for him to get to that next level:
The idea that you can sign someone and then make them into something they're not is absurd. You can hope to improve effort levels, and improve their shot, but improvements of that nature are small and specific. You don't sign someone to a max contract and then hope he can develop a max contract skill set, lol If it was anyone but Dallas, I'd probably feel bad for them having to deal with another Mr Kartrashian
I can't believe Parsons has gotten to the point where he's using the Kardashians to get his name out there.
Yes, this is why Ms. Jenner went after Parsons as a match for Kendall. I am sure that she had both traditional scouting reports and analytics (basketball as well as television) done on Parsons and other prospects before making a selection. They probably also have files on members of the 2013 and 2014 draft class targeted for the 16-year-old daughter so that she can contribute to the cause ASAP.
Not a lot of NBA basketball in this thread. I guess the Maverick Chandler Parsons will have to be discussed in the Hangout, TMZ style, hotballa files like.
I dont know if he'll reach max level play, but I think there certainly is room for improvement that, for whatever reason, wasn't focused on here. CP should have drawn a lot more shooting fouls, considering he's got one the best pump fakes in the game. Also, his height, he should have developed some kind of post move. Even Battier had a hook he could go to when it was to his advantage. Chandler should have developed one as well. He may never develop any other offensive move, but these changes are enough to get him to 18-19 ppg.
Sad that this rockets has-been is still getting attention on here. I could have sworn he plays for the rival team
I seriously cannot believe people actually think this is true. Dallas was a good offensive team last year. Their starting 5 might have a slightly better offense than last year, but losing Calderon's deadly 3 point shooting is going to hurt their spacing. Shawn Marion last year, even at his age, was a mug better defender than Parsons. Who are they expecting to play any perimeter defense in that lineup? I think that a lot of Dallas fans are excited to have Tyson Chandler back, but I think they will quickly find out that he is nowhere close to the same player that they had in 2011, even when he is healthy. I know people are disappointed in the way the Rockets offseason went, but let's not forget that we have two top 15 or so players in Howard and Harden. Dallas has one in Dirk, but Dirk's decline is imminent. Maybe next year, maybe the year after that. I don't know, but his days as an elite player are dwindling. He is 7 years older than Dwight and 11 years older than Harden! Let's not forget the good pieces that we do have. Even though we aren't a championship team right now, with Howard and Harden we are close, much closer than Dallas.

Nice to hear something related to basketball in this thread, and I agree with you, more or less. Statistically, Dirk's decline has definitely started. I think I posted about that earlier in the thread. But one important thing you left out: Vince Carter. He was really important to them last year, and he was also great in the fourth quarter. Whether or not he was spending time on twitter flirting with 18-yr-olds, well, I just don't know.
