Remember yesterday? Walking hand in hand? Love letters in the sand?

How many of those nukes were launched? Decommissioned? How about which one actually started a war?

Cold War fear mongering I guess was effective towards people that didn't understand Mutual Assured Destruction.

I just find it hard to believe that kids hiding underneath their desks had more of an impact than that of the first foreign attack on domestic soil in almost 200 years.

While right you are, I understand where homeboy is coming from.

In the last couple decades, bipartisanship has become somewhat of a joke. There was this documentary I was watching a year or two ago that had a great quote--

"It's harder to call some guy out (representative of opposing party) on the (house) floor when just the night before, you were over at his house at a Sunday BBQ."

-- or something to lines of that. Basically what it was trying to get at is, that somewhere (probably in the 70's), politicians ceased becoming friends with each other if they were not party-affiliated. That was only the beginning.

Couple that with the technology boom of the 80's and 90's, yellow journalism pouring through certain News Channels *cough cough MSNBC/FOX NEWS cough*, and internet watch dog sites slandering anything they don't like to an audience that is predisposition to believe whatever they want to hear?

Now politicians have no reason to be civil. Their constituency calls for them to be unapologetic, unreasoning, and ultimately unresolving unless they get EXACTLY what they want. When you're civil with people, you understand that you have to scratch someone's back, and they'll scratch yours; you take a little, you give a little.

But they can't do that, and instead digress to arbitrary poo-flinging since they know they ain't gonna get nothing done.

    Lol.

Maybe he meant that we were going to tank that year since half of the GARM was pro tanking even with Harden on board.

Remember when, you got excited after you enter AOL, and heard: "You've got mail"

I remember too, when I could only go to the internet, during the night, because my parents didnt want me to block the telephone line.

Half the GARM was but there a lot against tanking and some who thought that Rockets team had the making of championship contenders.

Then again every single season there are a least a few who think the Rocket's can be championship contenders. Two things that run deep in die hard sports fans are hope and denial.

In late 2005 / early 2006 I started dating a girl I met on Xanga or MySpace and everyone gave me grief for it. Now, she ended up being a crappy gf and every gf I've had since then was someone I knew in real life, but there's nothing wrong with meeting someone online IMO.

Nowadays, it seems like the preferred method. Were I not a happily married man, I'd so be on Tinder. I'd have multiple accounts where I play different characters. Preppy guy from wealthy family, tough guy with stack of 100s and drug paraphernalia, redneck on a John Deere tractor, socially-conscious libral with a silly shirt drinking a latte while reading Naomi Klein, athlete with (photoshopped) muscles, etc. I don't know why young guys don't do this.

Do you remember when you were with the Beatles...and...you were supposed to be dead and, uh...there's all these clues that like, uh...you play some song backwards and it's sayin', "Paul is dead" and, uh...everyone thought that you were dead and stuff? That was a hoax...right?
