The suns don't even take the offer of capela, Dmo, jones, etc. no way they take nick johnson and a draft pick

What's with all the translations of player interviews in foreign countries?

BTW, I have no reason to believe Dragic would know about a failed trade proposal. It makes no sense. Generally players don't even hear about a successful trade until it's been leaked to the press. I call BS on this.

Well, you're wrong. Ekipa is the most reputable sports journal in Slovenia, and the quote is directly from their interview with Dragic.

Eh, its possible his agent found out or something. Seems like a weird thing to make up.

I appreciate your optimism but I think your assessment of our talent doesn't match market value. Hibbert was the anchor of one of the best defenses in decades for a stretch. Perception of T-Jones is likely a useful player who is starting material but not a start to build around. (About what Carl Landry's was, though they play differently).DMo, if I am uncharitable (which most GM's would be) is a guy who couldn't crack the starting center or power forward job on a team where those were the biggest holes. He's a guy who got beat out for the starting forward job by a guy whose peak value could be MLE type contract.

So then it really comes down to the Pelican's pick. Do you trade Dragic for that pick? I'm skeptical. I'd love to be wrong though.

As much 5h1t as you talk about TJ why would you think any team would want to trade for him...???

The problem with Hibbert is his contract doesn't match his production and he doesn't fit the Suns uptempo scheme.

I'd rather have TJ and Nick Johnson and the cap space.

After Hibbert's mental breakdown, I'd say that is a big risk. If he weren't a center, or the contract were longer, IMO, it would almost make him a negative asset.

$30 mil over the next two years, and then unless he plays as well as your best hope, you have to decide to ether overpay him again (but even more this time), or you let him walk for nothing. And you never know if he's going to flake again and go sulk.

Trading for him would be the kind of move that has a decent chance to cost a GM his job.

I think that proposed trade is much worse than it seems when you just casually hear names being tossed around.

He's going to be an UFA. They've prepared for this with their acquisitions at PG. PHX has no leverage.

    Think about it.

Dude is on the market and negotiations HAVE been ongoing....with Indiana being used.

If this is the kind of offer, they're getting.....allegedly....I mean, really, this is posturing and a feeble attempt at that.

We won't be giving up much.

Have you heard if there has been any advancements? In talks with the suns re-signing Bledsoe, or trade talks with the Rockets?

I couldn't agree more...I always thought Roy would be incredible.. He's had ample time to develop that consistency...and he's demonstrated that it isn't happening...The Pacers know they can't count on him. Plus PHX isn't shifting into a win now mode overnight by a longshot....It wreaks of desperation on Indiana's part and completely supports how weak the market is for Goran under the circumstances.

If Phoenix trade Dragic, it won't be to take on more and longer salary unless that player is really worth it

Because a lot of teams look at players like many of the posters here do and they'll overrate a guy based on a highlight here and there without paying as much attention to fundamental skills, basketball iq, and career progression.

Same reason that Philly is purportedly offering Thad Young for Bennett. When you're not in win now, accumulating rookie contracts with potential, especially ones that have shown the ability to perform albeit inconsistently in hope one turns out great (although tbh, i'd expect dmo not jones to be their target, that kid has WAY more potential upside).

The point guard market appears quite guarded AT THIS TIME. Bledsoe is bleeding because where is the market for EB? Ainge has to be cowering in C's-land because where is the market for Rondo?

It seems to me that GMs are faced with holding their 'assets' and waiting on a propitious injury (ouch) and face the fact that two, the very biggest two, big money franchises will have big money and big need for franchise points effective 1 July 15.

It is also why I fear the ultimate effects if the rumor of The Dragon's Return has legs.

    What does this mean?

Totally understand your point about LAL and NYK needing a point and having max cap space next summer.

The point guard market is guarded because there's 4-5 "stars" and another 15-20 quality point guards, high supply and low demand will do that.

Our local rumor, local as right here in the GARM, is that Dragic will be a Rock and that an agreement to extend is in place.

Assuming this rumor is based on truth, fact or something substantial, I am concerned that 'we' will pay a price for GD then, come summer, we'll be GD'ed as Lakes and Knixies have the $$$ - - and lure - - to leave 'us' empty pointed.

Yes, I can find dark linings in silver clouds even when they are 'only' within our GARM.
