Just hit me that Pap and Dorsey played together on the Barcelona team. Possible that Dorsey had a influence on Pap's decision to sign with us, makes the Dorsey signing by Morey seem even better too me now.

When I look at Kostas Pumpernickle I think of one other player: Shane Battier. He has similar size, similar level of athleticism and skill, same passion, basketball IQ, outside shooting ... it is like I am seeing Battier coming into the league all over again. This guy is going to be perfect. I am very happy this deal got done. The Rockets desperately needed a large small forward to back up Ariza (Ariza, it seems to be, can struggle against the larger small forwards - he really seems to be more suited to guarding shooting guards). I expect to see a lot of Papayaangelou on the court this season -- he probably won't put up a lot of stats, but, I would refer people upset about that to the "No Stat All Star" piece on Shane Battier from a few years ago. Defense, outside shooting, intensity, intelligence...this guy might challenge Beverley's place as my favorite Rocket. He might even get up to a Chuck Hayes level of love from me (the only level beyond that in the HamJamOMeter is the Olajuwon level).
...and in other news, cheke64 successfully continues their quest to demonstrate what an a** they are in this thread...
Sorry if I offended you but people like to throw Battier comparisons when they don't know jack. Parsons was also compared to Battier in the beginning.

Lottery Pick No.6 overall VS. 6.9 PPG and 3.4 RPG and 50% FT shooter in EURO LEAGUE. One poster joked that we've found our Omri Casspi replacement and I thought it was funny at first but taking a closer look at the numbers Omri Casspi also averaged 6.9 PPG and 3.7 RPG and shot 68% from the line and that was in the NBA. It's not all about the numbers. Even if this guy was putting up 18 and 7 in Euro League I'd be skeptical. But the fact that he can't even score 10 and shoots 50% from the line and we paid a PREMIUM just to get him here absolutely blows my mind in every sense. You can hustle your ass off, play with all the passion in the world and have the heart of a lion but at the end of the day if the talent and skill isn't there you won't make it (not in the NBA at least). We'll see if he has any talent and or skills.
