I still irrationally believe in Robbie Grossman. I just want to see a Cy-Fair guy do it big in the Majors, OK?
Is Jerome Williams still on the Rangers? Maybe he can switch dugouts for this inning. He was our one-time closer, after all.
He has solid numbers in OKC this year. If Altuve misses like a week or something, Petit could be a capable fill-in.

Would work out really well for him if he was able to earn a larger contract than what he was offered last year due to his improved play. Had a monster game last night! Right there with you, man. Was driving home after a late flight and listening to the Rangers broadcast in the car. Was really hoping for a double play to clean up the inning. Was DFA'd right before the game to make room for Soto. They certainly will never be mistaken for Lidge/Dotel/Wagner, but I agree, they've hit a tough spot here lately. I heard on the Rangers broadcast that the Astros have 21 blown saves in 40 save opportunities. This includes blown leads in the 7th and 8th innings and all, but that's a lot of blown leads late in games. I wonder if the Astros will invest in a more lights out closer once the team is ready to take the next step or if the analytic folks devalue that position to the point they'll always want closer-by-committee?! Always good to root for the good guys!! Hoping they can keep it going (at home and against the Rangers) against Yu tonight. I'm always on edge when we face him. He's like a new and improved version of Francisco Córdova when it comes to stymying the Astros' bats. Go 'Stros!!
They'd be better served to allow one of the younger prospects (Folty?) take that job and run with it. Especially if they "fail" as a starter... although Wagner never started a big league game after being a starter in the minors, and I believe Lidge only had one start.
I think they should bat Marwin in all 9 spots of the lineup vs. Yu...just use "ghost runners." Last night's game was a blast, by the way!
I would like to reiterate just how terribly the Rangers announcers ****ing suck. Makes you appreciate Ashby.
