Not sure why you would click on and type in a thread clearly labeled "2014 Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B Thread" if the post above is how you feel about the music. I'm sure we'd have been able to survive and figure out that anything after 1994 isn't to your Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B satisfaction just by you staying away from the thread. IJS.
Seriously guys, listen to Slaughterhouse - House Rules mixtape. Saving hip hop. It's insane. youtube link to the whole mixtape <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/6AAoLvkGCn4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
So the Your Old Droog EP is so clearly Nas, you cant convince me otherwise.. damn what complex claims.. this is Nas.. d/l the pitched up version and youll hear nas.. not buying the story, some 24 year old russian kid from brooklyn has matered one of the greatest mc of all time's flow, rhyme patterns, style, substance, and mimicked his voice and breath control that its undetectable who is who.. bs. <iframe scrolling="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/playlists/37967285&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true" frameborder="no" height="450" width="100%"></iframe>

Thought Common's album was ok. I was hoping for a better CD and if it wasn't for the extra songs on the deluxe I probably wouldn't like the CD. Felt like I kept skipping songs and I never do that with Common. Why have Big Sean on the CD? Yesterday video came out of Childish Gambino claiming he is the best rapper alive and then goes to call out Drake, Kendrick, and School Boy Q. Those are the people you call out? Lol. I can see Kendrick as far as relevant and major impact in Hip-hop but School Boy Q. Guy cannot rap. I've heard better lyrics come from Crunchy Black. Still it's funny how he set the bar pretty low. He knows he can't say better than Nas or Andre. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/TL2mqrm0TgU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Black Thought destroyed the song. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/hc-efkXk27w" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
i genuinely dont understand any of the hoopla behind this gambino guy.. he has a couple catchy records but i thought he was thoroughly outshined by the choruses in those songs.. i wonder if he wasnt an actor on a popular tv show if he would have the same attention being paid to him..
My dude, I can't rep you enough for writing those thoughts on CGambino before I was able to. You put down everything I've thought about the dude since I started hearing hype about him.
Is it a stretch to say that BThought at 50% is still a better and more complete rapper than 90 % or even 95% of rappers out there? I mean damn. He is one of those rappers that I expect to destroy and own every song he touches. Whether Roots stuff or he's dropping in on someone else's track.
Common is mediocre now. The days of Like Water from Chocolate are apparently over. His new stuff is pop music.
