I didn't buy full albums growing up, though I occasionally bought single cassettes. I believe my first full album was:
Snoop Dogg - Doggy Style Because I thought the cover was cool lol. I was like in 3rd grade. It changed my life
How dare you not like my choice of music as I **** on yours?!?! Mine was probably Bobby Brown with my own hard-earned money. I got INXS and Poison CDs along with my CD player on Xmas morning, then went out and bought that one the next week.
Had a few 45s...mostly remember Queen - Another One Bites The Dust and the Dukes Of Hazzard theme. First full LP... First cassette...had to sneak buy this one...parents were on a Jesus-music crusade and wouldn't stand for heathenistic pop music... First CD...ironically, purchased by same mom that seethed previously at pop music...
Queen is awesome and Freddie is the greatest singer of all time. And I love hip hop, what garbage rap music are you referring to?
I'm pretty sure mine was an Jandek album or an early work of Daniel Johnston. Just kidding. It was Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise" album.
I did what I wanted to do. I clearly remember every little step I took down there. Remember those stupid cardboard cases that were a pain to open. Luckily it was decided that "hey, don't be cruel to the earth, let's make these environmentally friendly!" Roni.
I always said they were the coolest Christian band ever. I wrote a paper in 9th grade to that affect. Got a B. Then they came out with Achtung Baby.
I think some of y'all are skipping the embarrassing truth, but maybe you were all just cooler than me. Very possible. I listened to the cantina band over and over and over in 1st grade.
