The first Album you remember buying

I was around 11 or 12. Good clean music for a youngster.

 

Searched out of curiosity, wish I didn't......

Bought it at Planet Music (Gessner) around 1996 or so.



It's still selling.

I know this thread is about first album, but just to add that the first CD I bought was:

 

Got mad respect for those guys: Back in the 80's they actually turned down money to be in a miller lite beer commercial because they didn't feel it was right to promote alcohol due to the fact that a large percentage of their fan base was underage. They later successfully sued Miller Lite after look-alikes were used in the same commercial.

didn't take long for people to sell out to the green though...

The Fatboys pretty much brought Rap into the white peoples world. It was clean and acceptable to parents and totally un-objectionable. Plus their use of old hit songs and integrating with groups like the Beach Boys didn't hurt either. They opened the door for the white consumer consumption of rap.

 

I was too poor to buy music, so my first album was given to me as a birthday present by a friend.
