They drafted Jimmy because they are about to lose Mallet. He's not going to stay in New England and keep being Brady's backup. But I don't see why the Texans would wait until now to trade for Mallet _ when they brought in Fitzpatrick. The season is about to start _ that's something they should have done before the draft if they wanted to go that route. Unless New England has been playing hardball or something. But I'm with you. If the team isn't winning put Savage in and see what he can do and draft a QB next year if needed.
That's true, people complained a lot but our offense was almost always a top 10 offense in the NFL with Kubiak.....doesn't mean it wasn't time for him to go though.
That 1st drive was a thing of beauty. Great usage of TE's. We all know in Kubiak system the TE's will have a field day .
I don't doubt that some people think that way and it's sad. I'd point out the many, many exceptions, but we''ve been down this road too many times before.
I respect the win. Every year every team says what if and they got it done. I don't care about what ppl think personally, I respect the hard work and I respect the win
That's fine, there are a lot of people who focus on team accomplishment and ignore individual contribution or performance, you certainly aren't alone in being a fan of the "just winz". There were millions of Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, and Vince Young fans because of that mentality.
Flacco did play well in the playoffs when they won the SB. His comp% wasn't that great but he threw for a bunch of yards, had a really high QB rating, and most importantly, had 11 TDs and 0 INTs.
That didn't stop their fanbase from droning on about how much they won. Hell with Sanchez everyone was talking about how he broke the record for career road playoff wins. It's all pretty much the same BS when you ignore individual play and focus on team accomplishment. Sure, he had a super lucky run of a few games, but that's not enough to crown the guy or overshadow a career full of meh play.
Yes sir, Clowney was drafted to start and Reed is playing SAM and Jeff is playing the will position. Dude got out worked I guess.
Kubiak has always been a great offensive coordinator. That was never in dispute. He just lacked all the other qualities that made a winning HC. You know, like, leadership, accountability, adaptability, and the ability to be honest with himself. After a while, a litany of "Aw shucks, that's on me, we'll get better next time" starts to ring hollow, as the guy clearly goes back out there and does the same s*** over and over without making any changes. Kubiak made a lockbox of an offense, but once it got figured out over here it got figured out hard. Nothing changed between game 3 and game 16, and that's why he's gone. Good riddance.
Exactly... We have two 1st round picks that play the same position... At least we have depth. But I sure did want Kendall Wright or Alshon Jeffrey with that 1st round pick that year instead of Whitney.
I thought we would have drafted one of those guys as well. I was really hoping we drafted Kendall though.
