Everyone was asking cyberex what was going to happen. We got our answer. Charlie V.
I hope DM won't go back to him.

Tracy Murray was Brian Cook before Brian Cook was Brian Cook.

Well, I guess Morey's blunder this offseason looks even worse now that Kevin Love is no longer available.

Not sure I get the "we decided he wasn't good enough" theory. We obviously knew he he was from day one that they started pursuing him.

The breakdown was either money or there's another player Morey has in mind (but even that hasn't stopped him from stockpiling players)

JA and JD each have a pulse, so no there is a difference.

But, were Drew Gooden and Charlie V twins separated at birth? Both with NBA skills and when young had great promise. Then, two careers that together didn't amount to half of one.

    Backed out of a deal?

No wonder agents and players hate Morey and the Rockets. ;)

This non-signing does bring up the interesting question, Why?

Was / is there another move that Morey is looking into / gonna pull? Something that would have left us wanting in the frontcourt?

Hopefully cyberx will hear more about this and share with us.

Wasn't there a rumor about this guy right before the playoffs started?

Way to put a cherry on top of a miserable off season.

And you buy online so as not to go in Storrs?

Why do the Rockets need a SF (soft forward)?

Why are people here assuming that Villanueva would be signed for more than the veteran's minimum salary and then killing the notion of having him on the roster?

If they were going to throw the full $4.8 million remaining of their MLE, then sure, kill away. But that is highly unlikely.

If it were for the full BAE, then "eh."

But vet minimum signings with no salary commitments beyond this season should make NO FREAKING DIFFERENCE to the Rockets' long-range plans or to their ability to improve the team in more meaningful ways.

THIS. Morey will add as many guys as he can without hampering long term plans, and then let them fight it out for a roster spot.

First Aiken and Nix, now Villanueva. Houston teams can't be trusted.

This. I hope those "We backed out because he sucks" comments are just being sarcastic. Morey can't be realizing he sucks in the last minute. Interesting to know from cyberx what the reason is.

I wouldn't mind Villanueva on the Rockets for cheap. Seems like his production took a nosedive when he went to Detroit, but you know, it's Detroit.
