That's a pretty random remark...what indications are you talking about?
By ANY account he wasn't signing with the Rockets. First it was "Bosh is waiting for Lebron" well guess what, even without Lebron coming back to the Heat he re-signed.
Curious, why do keep making this about the Lakers and Lin? This is all about Morey, he's the one who let 3 legit players go for a net result of just about nothing (except for cap room he isn't using)...seems like you "fans" keep making it a LOF/LOH thing.

I understand the cap space thing but if you don't use it, why bother? Also, I;m not sure it's fair to characterize Parsons as no D. The Rockets as a team don;t play good D. The on court rotations are sporadic and players don't seem to know their roles. Beverly, while a great on ball defender, was as prone to picks as anyone else.
Listen, time will tell whether Morey knows what he's doing. Today my opinion is that he's not doing a good job...that may change in the future, we'll see.
(Still think McHale is the problem)

It'll eventually get used. There's no sense in using cap space just for the sake of using it. It's wiser to preserve it and maintain flexibility.

In any case, Ariza is a significantly better defender than Parsons. The 2015 Rockets will be a much better defensive team than the 2014 Rockets.

Yep, that's your opinion, and you're entitled to it. However, Morey took a team with no stars and transformed it into what we have today while staying competitive during the entire process. That's a fact. And because of that fact, most people will disagree with your opinion.

Has something like that ever been done before?

    From WIKI:
Morey has completed seven seasons as the General Manager of the Houston Rockets. The team has made the playoffs three times and only won one playoff series.

Yeah, it's not like we lost Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady to injury....

It frightens me that people that are so stupid to think that this is a good argument against Morey's tenure are allowed to be members of society.

I agree with your sentiment on waiting to see if Morey's decision to replace Parsons with Ariza was a good one, but don't resort to mindless crap like that in you argument.

#1 Just because they haven't used the cap space yet, doesn't mean they won't use it.

#2 Yeah, it is fair to say Parsons played no defense, he along with Harden and Lin were poor perimeter defenders.

#3 Beverley was and is a vastly superior defender on the perimeter and the advanced statistics spell it out.

#4 Lin being gone is addition by subtraction. His own teammates and coaches did not have confidence in him in the playoffs or in the clutch.

#5 Morey has added Howard, Harden, Beverley and Jones in just the last couple years. He is doing fine.

How long will it take you to figure out Lin doesn't play here anymore?

How is that mindless? It's a fact, his teams have done NOTHING in the playoffs. Can you dispute that??? He had a stud team last year and they under-performed. You might be able to convince me that he did his job and McHale failed.

    He probably added it himself.

#3 - Lin shut down Lillard in the 6th game until the genius decided to sit him on the bench for the final .9 (because Harden is such a stud defender)

#4 - Help me out here...I can make up stuff too. "Harden is regarded as a ball hog around the league and no-one wants to play in Houston"

#5 - And Parsons, Asik and Lin.....The Rockets were a good team with a bad coach.

It's part of the rebuilding process. Last year was Dwight's first year with the Rockets.

We didn't have a stud team. We had an undersized, inexperienced starting PF and an unreliable backup pg/sg.

You've already made up your mind. That's why you're resorting to intellectually dishonest arguments (i.e. ignoring Yao/McGrady injuries, Les Alexander's mandate to be competitive).

    Razsan, give it up.

Jeremy Lin no longer play here.

Why keep antagonizing? What's the point? It's already in the past, move on.

Hindsight is 20/20. McHale was probably worried that Lin would make another crucial mistake.

    Dwight Howard?

We sorely needed a solid PF and backup guard.

So much this. Razsan, you used to be a fairly quality poster, though sometimes annoyingly overzealous in your exaltation of Lin. This IS about Jeremy for you, no matter how you slice it. You admit that you aren't a fan of this team and just float to wherever Lin goes, yet you log on every day and come to ONLY this thread and bash the Rockets. No other threads -- just this one. Over and over and over. That is not coincidental. You are here only to be antagonistic, and I doubt you aren't smart enough to figure out that that is the reason actual fans here react to you the way they do. Like, how long do you intend to continue?
