Being up-tempo and trying to lead the league in fast break points and or constantly trying to push the ball is two different things. We're a fast-paced team with no structure (unlike San Antonio)... And like I said _ on Team USA Harden doesn't have to do everything offensively. It seems you ignored that point as well.

Hopefully, all the positive media attention around Harden's defensive effort flips a switch in his head.

The offensive load is a no brainer given the talent level, the rest is your whiny crap about Mchale, that straight forward enough for you?

Well, our unstructured offense outscored the Spurs in both regular season and post-season.

Your realize that's MJ level effiency from the 2gaurd spot? Actually better than any 2 guard ever? So while I was wrong.... Barely. He still was amazing and yes IMO the same offensively as LBJ and durant. 28 7 and 5 on 47/42 is MVP HoF type stuff. Dont act like anyone else besides these 3 is even attempting numbers like that for 5 games let alone almost half a season.

All I was trying to point out is James harden is special and with some growing up and commitment to defense he can join those guys ranks as yearly MVP type performer.

Kool...!!!! Got to get me a "We Outscored The Spurs In The Regular Season, And Got Beat By Portland In The 1st Round" T-shirt :)

But if Howard is going to continue with his post game like he did in the playoffs _ I'm expecting them to slow the offense down some and get him more shots. San Antonio only picked up their pace because Duncan got old. That in turn should help the defense.

This may come as a shock to you, but there is more to winning than just offense. In fact, there's thing thing called defense. I know it might be hard to understand since you seem to think offense is 100% of basketball, but if you watch some games, you'll realize that there's a whole other side of the game.

Paul George did for a month and everyone crowned him on par with Durant/Lebron.

Harden was the best player in the league for a good portion of the season. His bad playoffs really blew that thought up though.

While the notion that harden carrying the offense could hurt his defense isn't a crazy one, you do have to realize that while he held Paul George scoreless, he led the White Team in points, and was 1 ast away from leading that category too.

Defense is all about effort and consistency. Until we can see Harden commits to one full season of solid d, it doesn't mean much.

The Spurs ran at the highest average speed and ran the farthest distance per game last season. They were the most "tracky" team and they did just fine.

I hear you, but to be fair, they logged so many miles because they actually run a half-court offense filled with cuts and movement. To be sure, they ran a break when they could as well.

But compare their half-court film to ours last season. Yikes.

If this was something that Harden had done for a whole season, then all that might mean something. As it is, it's an apples to oranges comparison. Harden is really good, but he's just not KD or Lebron. He's not the finisher those guys are, and he never will be.

He could possibly be the 3rd best offensive player in the league, but that's his ceiling.

That's true and the amount of guys they use in their rotation helps in allowing for all that running. My point is running and running often is not something we should shy away from. Build depth and bring down the minutes a tad for our main guys. With our youth we don't even have to cut the minutes to the extreme SA does, just 3 or so minutes I think would do wonders.

Obviously you didn't read the rest of my post sir... And "you people" got it bad assuming other people don't watch basketball and always result to that in your debates...

You're a smart knowledgeable guy jordnnn... So don't act like you don't know that Pop uses his bench and he doesn't run his starters into the ground during the regular season. And we already had the discussion about the Rockets offensive play calling.

Exactly. The Rockets run a nice "regular season" gimmick offense. Which is why with all of that talent they could only win two games in the playoffs. OKC has the same issues but KD and Westbrook make up for the team's lack of coaching skills.

If you have seen any of my posts iv never said harden can be better than those guys. Both those guys can and maybe will be better than Jordan. That's not a slight to Harden. He's not 6'9 270 like lebron and he's not almost 7 foot like KD. Part of there dominance is we've never seen anything like those guys before. But offensively harden can be just as effective.

When I pointed those numbers out while small, It's still 30 games. If he could avg those numbers for 5 straight yrs. he would surely win atleast one MVP and may even be seen as the 3rd best sg of all time. His ts% was higher for those 30 games than any point in MJs career. That's amazing that harden could do that for 30 games. This guy is special offensively and that's all I'm
Trying to point out and the rockets are in very good shape moving forward with this guy because he has legit HoF talent.

That's because they don't let the starters play more than 40min/game. McHale on the other hand...
